Subs left too late, doesnt help that Varela, Ideye and Anichebe are all injured as they are the three that could have changed the game but Blanco and Samaras were given no time to do anything. In fact I would look to offload Anichebe in January and replace him if he doesn't sort out his fitness because it is becoming a joke and he isnt worth his wages sitting on the treatment table.

As for today, didn't watch the match but read the live commentary and heard we were the better team for large parts. A 2-1 loss isn't a bad result against Liverpool but a loss against United after the international break will put us under pressure to get 4-6 points from Palace and Leicester.

Oh well lost the game, but we played well so loads of positives to take from the game

oh well. A good performance so it seems. Still a good step forward.

Hard lines today. Great performance, and a draw would have been fair. Didn't let Liverpool create all that much - unfortunately, they were clinical with the couple of chances they did get - and got into plenty of good positions ourselves, but just lacked that final bit of quality.

Move on, turn in another good show against Man Utd in a fortnight and hope that we'll get our reward this time.

Yeh - a lot of positives; although Lpool knocked the ball about and played it wide very well I think we were neat, moved well and used the ball OK....closed them down well, had good energy, and did pretty well all over the pitch.
Looked a little lightweight up front - agree that Samaras should've come on 15 mins sooner - but Saido was the undoubted MOTM IMO - sharp, full of running, good on the ball, great movement. Deserved more support.

Watched the match on live stream thought we were good enough for a point, although it was a loss many positives to take forward to the Man U match

I also watched it live on a stream and it was a great effort by the team and we could have nicked a point which would have been great. I agree with Stoke Prior, a lot of positives and beaten by two very well taken goals. Not sure the penalty was actually inside the area but, who's complaining ! Smile

Would love to see this against Man United:

Foster
Gamboa - Dawson - Lescott - Pocognoli
Mulumbu
Gardner--------Brunt
Sessegnon
Ideye - Berahino
