I cant Stephanie , I just cant Cry

Anyway , Gamboa , Blanco and Varela looked great tonight,

Varela beat two players and played a great reverse ball into Saido for the winner Big Grin

Yacob tackled well and looked back to his old self Thumb up

It's hard to be critical after a win, but I don't think Irvine got the balance of the side right tonight.

No width, very little in the way of creativity, with only 1 through ball all night (Varela for the 3rd goal).

Individually, there were some decent performances out there, but the side need to be less one dimensional.

Yacob was my man of the match. Won every 50/50. Strong and always keeps the ball. Considering he hasn't had a look in, he could've easily strolled around tonight and waited for a move in January, but he bossed the midfield.

The diamond midfield didn't work, despite Yacob, Mulumbu, O'Neil and Blanco all being decent individually. It seems our squad is more suited to a 4-5-1 and we had the personnel to play that tonight (Samaras is far more effective coming from the left) but Irvine preferred a 4-4-2, which meant the only wide ball was the full backs.

On the full backs, Davidson looks to want to get forward but seems to lack pace and quality on the final ball. Gamboa on the other hand didn't get forward enough IMO. There were some obvious chances to overlap in the second half when he held back (Not sure if under instruction or not), which was surprising given how he bombed on at every opportunity in the World Cup.

Other elements of Gamboa's game look good, he was pacy, combative and decent on the ball.

Overall, not sure if anyone has done enough to force their way in on Sunday. I think we might need a bit more craft against a Burnley side that will come to frustrate us. Would be nice to see Varela as an option from the bench, looked more creative in his cameo than the rest of the side did in 80 mins - we might need that on Sunday.

Would it be cheaper to buy from the Baggies ticket desk, or from the Bm'th at the game? Anyone know,
