RE: WBA vs Aston Villa - Match Thread - DanTheSmethwickMan - 23-01-2016 Nothing short of PATHETIC. I'm sorry let's forget this was Villa, we have just played at home against bottom of the league, who have won 2 games all season and are odds on to go down. Now, can't remember a shot on target and less possession, it's getting ridiculous. And everyone who won't fault pulis, we are nowhere near safe and if we carry on like this we are going to be right in the thick of it. We cheered every time we got into their half, it was embarrassing. No creativity whatsoever apart from sess, sitting back all game and not wanting to get out our own halves, what is going on? We have just drew 0-0 at home to bottom of the league, who have been smashed week in week out by teams even around them. We haven't just drew and been unlucky not to win, we've drew and we're lucky not to lose. Both teams today were shite but if villa would have won that game, we could have had no complaints whatsoever. Absolutely awful watching the same crap week in week out, and yes results are important but we are not out of this and if something doesn't change we are going to be fighting at the bottom. RE: WBA vs Aston Villa - Match Thread - Baggievicar - 23-01-2016 Pulis saying that's just the way it is in derby games and he's happy with the effort and commitment. Very, very sad. RE: WBA vs Aston Villa - Match Thread - bomberbrown1968 - 23-01-2016 That's 2 wasted hours of my life that I won't get back. We were woeful, I kept waiting for us to build up a head of steam but it never looked like happening, Villa picked up EVERY ball, they might have needed the win more than us, but there is no excuse for them wanting it more. I think I could only be more angry if we had lost, give any team that amount of possession and it'll give them confidence the fact Villa are beyond rubbish makes it all the more harder to take because they were the better team throughout. 2 very poor teams and if I didn't know any better we looked liked the one cut off at the bottom ![]() ![]() RE: WBA vs Aston Villa - Match Thread - BaggieSteve - 23-01-2016 (23-01-2016, 19:30)Baggievicar Wrote: Pulis saying that's just the way it is in derby games and he's happy with the effort and commitment. Baggievicar, in all honesty did you expect any other response? The virtues of hard worn and graft frump everything else in Pulis' world. I agree with him they are extremely important, it's just there are a few other virtues he might want to consider - creativity, excitement, passion RE: WBA vs Aston Villa - Match Thread - Mosestheballwinner - 23-01-2016 Watched the game online today and Gary Birtles was rightly scathing when describing individual performances. Albion are footballing Dignitas. If Premier League survival is all we're going to play for I don't think I'll bother with it. You can't just switch off being a Baggie but I can sure as hell turn off my contributions to various Albion income streams. For goodness sake JP, you're a fan, tell Pulis and his backroom hoofballers how Albion fans like their football because I'm sick of watching this rubbish. I don't support The Albion so that I can watch other teams have the ball all afternoon. Giving the opposition the ball to play with as we do just gives them more chances than us of scoring. It isn't a difficult concept to get your head around. RE: WBA vs Aston Villa - Match Thread - WeeWillie - 23-01-2016 I'm not a fan of Pulis's style......but it's another point towards safety, a clean sheet, after all it's a results business, not about entertainment and we're "guaranteed" to stop up........or so I'm told if we dare to criticise. RE: WBA vs Aston Villa - Match Thread - Worldclassalbion - 23-01-2016 The worst Derby game I have ever seen.............................We have managed 1 shot on target in 3 games.. Absolute Rubbish, Woeful, CACK. Villa should have had a penalty and deserved to win what was a very poor game. Villa are statistically the worst team in league but made us look even worse than them. If I was in charge of MOTD I would refuse to play any of it as nothing worth showing. PISS POOR. I see Austin scored the winner for Saints today, As for Berahino, he's fatter than Big Vic. Fletcher had no influence on the game. As a season tkt holder I think the club should reimburse everyone's money and I mean everyone RE: WBA vs Aston Villa - Match Thread - tidy - 23-01-2016 Disillusioned. That's all. RE: WBA vs Aston Villa - Match Thread - BaggieMan - 23-01-2016 Dreadful performance today with Vile being the better team and in all honesty were worth three points. After the Newcastle and Stoke games I thought Pulis had turned the corner with a more aggressive style of play but it seems, like the leopard, he hasn't changed his spots. With the exception of Mozza and Brunt, we had a fairly strong team out today but created virtually nothing and deserved nothing. We desperately need some attacking creativity in the middle but I doubt it will happen with only just over a week of the window left. ![]() RE: WBA vs Aston Villa - Match Thread - Zinman - 23-01-2016 Awful performance. I can fully understand why Peace is reluctant to give Pulis any more money to spend -we're crying out for creativity and pace but Pulis just doesn't get it. The most telling moment for me was when Bunn punched the ball out to the edge of the area with 6 Albion players still in their own half and nobody within 30 yards of the ball. So negative and I just want the dinosaur gone. |
