Only difference for you is that VAT is included in the price you see on the window, over here the price you see does not include tax and that is then added, so you need to be aware that the total will always be higher than what is written down.

So how much do you lot pay for fuel ?

I'm currently paying £1.057 per litre (roughly £4.85 a gallon) for diesel so economy is one of our first thoughts when buying a car in the Motherland. My new 2.2L I-DTEC (or summat like that) is alleged to do a combined 67.3 MPG (funny how the twats sell us fuel in litres then quote mileages in gallons Angry ) but it will do 0-60 in 8 seconds Thumb up and has a top speed of 135 MPH Thumb up

I haven't tested the 135 MPH yet as the wife thinks the speed bumps near us will ruin the suspension and there is a 20 MPH zone just round the corner Angry

I was talking to my daughter about fuel prices yesterday. Currently here in California I am paying $2.99 per US gallon for unleaded. That equates to 3.7 litres and therefore about 50p per litre, and we are the most expensive state in the US for petrol. My daughter is at college in Missouri and she is paying $1.99 per US gallon, so about 34p per litre. I am sure Stateside is paying a similar price to that, Washington might be nearer the CA prices.

I'd completely forgotten that you don't even have proper gallons over there  Doh

Am I right in thinking that a US gallon equates to about three quarters of an English gallon  Huh Yours is 6 pints and ours is 8  Huh

All I know is a UK gallon is 4.5 litres and a US one is 3.7 litres

Wow, over here I am amazed they haven't realized the potential of selling personalized plates!!  Assuming OWL 1 is not being used here in CA, it would cost about $150 (90 quid) to get that license plate!!!  And of course it would be available in each state as well.

Start a new business mate  Thumb up and don't forget my 10%  Whistle

Getting roughly 55 MPG at the moment Thumb up but I haven't been on a cruise yet and I drove the 36 miles home after buying it with the climate control blasting at 30 degrees and the windows open because I couldn't work out how to switch it off while doing 70 odd on the M62  Doh
