Sub Richard Bennett scored an injury time equaliser for Ashton to cancel out Jamie Rother's 54th minute goal on Saturday. Salford City squad: Jay Lynch, Phil Edgehill, James Moss, Simon Wiles, Chris Lynch ©, Paul Linwood, Ash Dunn, Jamie Rother, Danny Webber, Dale Johnson, Danny Browne, Aaron Walters, Nicky Platt, Josh Messer, James Kirby, Gareth Seddon. Ashton Utd Squad: Paul Phillips, Cavell Coo, Greg Pearson, Jason Gorton ©, Jack Higgins, Ashley Young, Bradley Robinson, Gary Gee, Martin Pilkington, Matthew Chadwick, Kayde Coppin, Richard Bennett, Chris Baguley, Mark Haslam, Joe O'Keefe, Stephen Halford, Josh Cook. RE: Brighouse to Wembley - themaclad - 30-09-2014 Highlight tie in the third qualifying round is Bamber Bridge v Chorley, a very local derby, two towns six miles apart, it should bring a 1000 plus gate, as for Lancaster, the chances of me travelling to Kings Lynn are remote. RE: Brighouse to Wembley - Marco4 - 30-09-2014 Grays v. Bromley is an interesting one from either side of the river. King's Lynn is weird. RE: Brighouse to Wembley - themaclad - 30-09-2014 Strangely Kings Lynn played City in the FA Cup about 10 years ago at Lancaster. City won 1-0 RE: Brighouse to Wembley - Lord Snooty - 30-09-2014 Ashton United march on. A 1-0 victory at Salford tonight and now they go to Spennymoor. Ashton United FC @AshtonUnitedFC 42' GOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLLL! Mark Haslam makes a beautiful run with the ball from midfield, carries on and slots home! SUPERB! Ashton United FC @AshtonUnitedFC FT Salford 0-1 Ashton. A brilliant performance and victory for the club. Salford also lose their first game of the season. GET IN!!!!!!!!!!! RE: Brighouse to Wembley - spireitematt - 01-10-2014 AFC Fylde beat Bradford Park Avenue so Buxton will face AFC Fylde on the 11th October. RE: Brighouse to Wembley - themaclad - 01-10-2014 See my thread on other football was at the Fylde game RE: Brighouse to Wembley - Lord Snooty - 10-10-2014 Spennymoor Town v Ashton United
The FA Cup 3rd Qualifying round Saturday October 11th - 3:00 ko at The Brewery Field ![]() The road to Wembley via Brighouse, Ashton, Salford, now heads north to Spennymoor for this 3rd qualifying round match. Both teams play in the Evo-Stik League Northern Premier League, with Ashton in the Premier and Spennymoor in the First Division. The Moors are a fairly new club, being formed by the merger in 2005 of Evenwood Town and the disbanded Spennymoor United. They still play at United's ground though and the core of the supporter base is old United fans. The big news for this match is the expected debut for Ashton of the ex Manchester Utd, WBA, Huddersfield Town, Sheffield Wednesday and HMP Strangeways player, Ronnie Wallwork. Now 37 years old, the tough tackling midfielder returns to the game after a short spell in prison for receiving stolen goods in 2011. Spennymoor Town squad: Will Jones, Adam McHugh, Kallum Griffiths, Daniel Groves, Stephen Capper, Christopher Mason, Paul Johnson, Joe Tait, Ben Sayer, Andrew Stephenson, Shane Henry, Keith Graydon, Lewis Dodds, John McReady, Anthony Peacock, Michael Roberts, Liam Henderson, Gavin Cogdon, Craig Lynch, Andrew Johnson. Ashton Utd squad: Josh Cook, Paul Phillips, Cavell Coo, Jason Gorton, Steve Halford, Mark Haslam, Jack Higgins, Greg Pearson, Connor Roberts-Nurse, Chris Baguley, Matty Chadwick, Kayde Coppin, Sam Fitzgerald, Gary Gee, Martin Hill, Brad Robinson, Josh Steadman, Ashley Young, Richard Bennett, Martin Pilkington, Dimitri Tuanzebe, Ronnie Wallwork. RE: Brighouse to Wembley - Stairs - 10-10-2014 The draw is on the BBC on Monday 27th October - Can't help get excited about the competition despite the last few decades of ruin that the FA have allowed to happen. |
