Not too worried about the Blunts right now. Will think about them if they get promoted. If they join us, I don't want us to focus on 2 derby matches rather then the rest of the season! We made that mistake some years back when we had all the local games, we threw away too many points in other games.

Imre has always said that, local derbies are great spectacles but are too unpredictable and time consuming!!

Local derbys are great, we all love the build up, the banter and the inevitable joy or despair which comes with the result!! I just think Wednesday have historically got tunnel vision and become too consumed with the 'few' derby games and lost focus on the majority of the season. I love a derby and all it brings.. . could just do without too many distractions next season!

I agree with that. Once this season is done it is all about setting us up for the prem, we have enough to do on that front without anything else getting in the way.

They brand today's match as a derby... Is it really? (about 25 miles between us) Yes it's a Yorkshire derby but it is a bloody big county!! If there were no Yorkshire teams to play... what would become our 'derby' then??

I asked in the OP if it was a local or just Yorkshire derby. To be fair prior to the last few years we have hardly played them for decades so even though we are both in Yorkshire I don't see it as a real derby.
I see the club have announced this afternoon that our ex-Chairman Matt Shepherd has died today. RIP.

Owls: Westwood, Mattock, Hutchinson, Nuhiu, Lavery, Lees, Zayatte, Lee, Isgrove, Vermijl, McGugan
Substitutes: Kirkland, Buxton, May, Maguire, Maghoma, Bus, Dielna
So back to 442. Zayette in for Dielna, no Helan so he must have failed fitness test, Nuhiu and Lavery up front and Bus is on the bench so may actually see him play a few games before the end of the season!!

I don't see this as a real Derby, just a local fixture. Derbies for me are teams from the SAME city. I suppose you could say that when it comes to South Yorkshire teams they are Derby games
