Disappointing points return over the festive period but it was pretty much what I expected, even before King Carlos’s decision to leave.

Derby had a double advantage before CC left. Two days more rest and at home.
Sheffield united played two home games with sufficient rest, no travelling, we played two away games less recovery time. A point today was a bonus, watching the highlights, we gifted Sheffield their goal, Fellows missed a sitter first half and we had another great chance second half. Their keeper also pulled off some great saves.

These football computers don’t like us do they?.

PNE get one back (70 mins) 3-1

RE: WBA Xmas & New Year Thread - Salopbaggie - 01-01-2025

We are falling victim of our old habits of stopping attacking and going back to just defending side to side and backwards, no forward movement.

Happy with the scoreline (obviously!)

We dfended like bell ends in the first half although put this down to missing a couple of pplayers, looked unbalanced on the right hand side.
You get it forward quicker than you did under Carlos and with pacey forwards it suits the team better.Didn't think we played as bad as the scoreline suggests, if Riis had made it 3-2 with the shot that was saved might have been interesting.
As for Bob with the whistle Barclay should ave been off for his WWF stuff and on another day Styles got away with one on Whiteman

Obviously disappointing to concede the late equaliser, but I reckon our points haul from the festive period overall is about par. In the circumstances, can't fault the job the caretaker team have done these last couple of weeks to keep us on track.

Yup - judging by the reports, they HAVE been able to shift the general mindset to one of trying to play on the front foot, which is very encouraging as this has been achieved in such a short time Thumb up
