Midfielder Matt Butcher has left Wycombe Wanderers to join Salford City on a two-year deal.

The 28-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Bristol Rovers, and has played most of his football in League One.

Butcher began his career at Bournemouth and had spells at Accrington Stanley, Plymouth Argyle, Yeovil Town and St Johnstone in Scotland.

He is Salford's second signing of the week, following defender Michael Rose's acquisition, and hopes he can pass on his huge experience to his team-mates.

"On the pitch, I'm a midfielder, and I'm pretty comfortable in different positions," he told Salford's website, external.

"I like to play with energy, and as the team already does, I like to press high up the pitch.

"I really enjoy that side of things and hopefully I can bring some experience of being in successful teams in the past, and add some quality as well.

"From what I've seen at training, it's similar here to what I've seen in the past with good teams, so hopefully that can continue."

Salford City have signed Under-20 World Cup winner Nicolas Siri on loan for the season.

The 21-year-old joins from Uruguayan side Montevideo City Torque, part of the City Football Group.

Siri made his senior debut in the Uruguayan First Division at the age of 16, playing for Danubio and later that same season became the youngest player to score a hat-trick in his country's top flight.

He was in the squad for the Under-20 World Cup in 2023 and he appeared as a substitute in every game of the tournament except the final, in which Uruguay beat Italy.

In January, after scoring 12 goals in 56 games in the Uruguayan top-flight, Siri joined Montevideo's sister club Lommel in Belgium and scored twice in 10 appearances in the second division.

Salford City have signed Nigerian striker Dan Udoh from Wycombe Wanderers on a two-year deal.

The 29-year-old spent one season at Adams Park, scoring nine goals in 49 appearances, after a move from Shrewsbury Town last summer.

That followed five years at Salop, where he famously scored the opening goal in their FA Cup third round tie against Liverpool at Anfield.

Udoh played 181 times for Shrewsbury, soring 38 goals, joining the club after going through the youth systems at Luton Town and Stevenage, and a nomadic non-league career on loan whilst registered to Kidderminster Harriers.

A move to Ilkeston saw him catch the attention of Crewe, and after another wleter of loan spells he washed up at AFC Telford United, where his 19 goals in 39 games attracted the attention of neighbours Shrewsbury.
