RE: WBA vs Man City & Fulham - Match Thread - WBA-Josh - 30-01-2021 Plan A out of the window with Grant on for O'Shea. The set-up is now 4 man defence, Pereira and Grant on the wings, Robinson as the striker and Snodgrass in centre of midfield with Gallagher and Livermore which is just as nonsensical as the starting 11. RE: WBA vs Man City & Fulham - Match Thread - Baggie_One - 30-01-2021 Tactical genius is our Sam Why bring off O’Shea and then basically have grant playing in the same position ??? RE: WBA vs Man City & Fulham - Match Thread - Borders Baggie - 30-01-2021 Why take O’Shea off and leave Gibbs on? For one of the few players who have a lot of premiership experience, he looks totally lost. Very poor. But Allardyce knows what he’s doing ...... RE: WBA vs Man City & Fulham - Match Thread - BaggieSteve - 30-01-2021 This is like a training session for a team three points ahead of us. They control the ball, run with it, beat players, and find players in space. We can’t do any of this. It was hard to take the performance against City but they are excellent- this is an utter disgrace. The sooner relegation arrives and Allardyce goes, the better RE: WBA vs Man City & Fulham - Match Thread - WBA-Josh - 30-01-2021 That was fecking dreadful. RE: WBA vs Man City & Fulham - Match Thread - Salopbaggie - 30-01-2021 Well I would say that was atrocious but I am not that generous, in 50 years of watching matches I am struggling to remember a worse half and we are amazingly lucky to only be 1 down. Is it possible that even the Pullis teams were better? Sam needs to tear them all a new one and hopefully they might pick up the pace a bit. There is no shape or structure to the Albion game, absolutely none. I have no idea how Allardyce will set up for the second half but they have to create something. I feel sorry for the forwards, they get nothing from the midfield. At some point, I may have to come out from behind the sofa RE: WBA vs Man City & Fulham - Match Thread - Slick_Footwork - 30-01-2021 I suspected that Fulham would be too good for us, regardless of who Sam picked, and it's proven to be the case. But the nature of the performance is far worse than expected. We aren't laying a glove on them... Far too deep, no quality on the ball, no shape. There are just too many players way out of their depth at this level. I don't think any are Premier League players... (Maybe Johnstone and Pereira, if he played with a strong midfield behind him) And while many have been terrible today, the real stand out terrible performer is Keiran Gibbs. Him and O'Shea collectively were responsible for the goal, O'Shea should've stopped the ball from getting to Mitrovic while Gibbs should've stuck with his man rather than following the ball like what under 10's do. But after that, he's continued to be dreadful, almost costing us another 1 at least trying to play offside. Then the short backpass which lead to the Loftus Cheek chance. It's one thing not being good enough but when a senior player plays like this, it means his time is up. Considering relegation is inevitable, might as well put Townsend in and see him progress. I don't think he's Premier League quality, but neither is Gibbs and at least Townsend can get forward and put a cross in. Not seen Gibbs get forward for about a year. All that said, I have a suspicion we could grab a draw second half... You see it all too often when a team boss a game and fail to capitalise and that's what Fulham have done today. So you never know, the luck is on our side to only be 1 goal down now. RE: WBA vs Man City & Fulham - Match Thread - baggietrousers - 30-01-2021 I know many if us, myself included, believe relegation is inevitable. And judging by this performance it will be confirmed very soon. But this squad and management are not good enough for the championship. There will be no challenge for promotion or even that many entertaining games, in fact another relegation battle is more likely. We were well and truly outclassed by City a few days ago, who are a quality side so no great surprise there. But to be completely outclassed by Fulham is an absolute disgrace. And who said earlier about Gibbs staying on the pitch instead of O'Shea, spot on. Gibbs is awful. RE: WBA vs Man City & Fulham - Match Thread - SomersetBaggie - 30-01-2021 Making Fulham look like Man City, they looked like they were going to score every time they came forward. We just hoofed the ball or gave it away. Pathetic performance, no shape and no idea. The look of a poor Championship side. Diagne is probably looking for a get out clause! Losing is bad enough but losing in this manner is not acceptable! One of the worse performances I can remember. Will be bottom in a weeks time! |
