RE: Give Us This Day, Our Daily Thread. - HerefordBull - 24-06-2022 Just back from a few days away so enjoyed reading your daily reports Snoots. ![]() Looking forward to any report s on the Town player who died at the Somme. RE: Give Us This Day, Our Daily Thread. - theo_luddite - 24-06-2022 Smith Rowe is welcome back anytime, though I reckon he's going to be earning a bit more corn than he was first time round. Let's say it could stretch Deano's bank balance a tad. If Arsenal even breathed the word "loan" in his respect there's at least 10 teams in the Prima Donna League that would take him on full wages + any loan fee in a heartbeat. RE: Give Us This Day, Our Daily Thread. - Lord Snooty - 24-06-2022 Yes but how many of those prima donna teams have got Zoe from Fartown? ![]() ![]() RE: Give Us This Day, Our Daily Thread. - theo_luddite - 24-06-2022 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Give Us This Day, Our Daily Thread. - Lord Snooty - 24-06-2022 (24-06-2022, 13:55)HerefordBull Wrote: Just back from a few days away so enjoyed reading your daily reports Snoots. My last communication was that they going to "do some digging". I'm hoping that they get dug by the end of the month so I can include him in my July 1st report, which of couse was the first day of the Battle of the Somme. RE: Give Us This Day, Our Daily Thread. - HerefordBull - 24-06-2022 Do you know if he was in the 17th Middlesex........the football "pals" battalion? Many English footballers joined this, whereas many Scottish ones were in McCraes .....the 16th Royal Scots, during the Somme. RE: Give Us This Day, Our Daily Thread. - Lord Snooty - 24-06-2022 His Wiki page says he was in but he's not on the list on the Footballers Battalion list. His name's John Wood. He left us for Aberdeen in 1911. There's not much else on his page. RE: Give Us This Day, Our Daily Thread. - theo_luddite - 24-06-2022 He's too old to be the John Wood I went to school with. Then again, we long thought he lied about his age. ![]() RE: Give Us This Day, Our Daily Thread. - Lord Snooty - 24-06-2022 Unless you went to school before 1916 theo....... ![]() RE: Give Us This Day, Our Daily Thread. - theo_luddite - 24-06-2022 um, 63-65'ish when I started, I think, depending on whether you were called infinks or joooniors. |
