RE: The Push for Promotion - Act 2 Season 2015-16 - madsteve - 22-01-2016 SSN reporting that Wednesday have made an improved offer for Alan Judge. RE: The Push for Promotion - Act 2 Season 2015-16 - Statesideowl - 22-01-2016 Diagouraga left Brentford for L**ds They're still expecting Judge to leave. Will he make the move from London to Yorkshire though? RE: The Push for Promotion - Act 2 Season 2015-16 - peiowl - 22-01-2016 London to Yorkshire. Funny how folk in England still regard distances like that as a big deal. London to Sheffield is 172 miles. Over here, people sometimes travel that far just to get to work. Maybe it's a culture shock London to Sheffield? Now, I can see that. ![]() ![]() RE: The Push for Promotion - Act 2 Season 2015-16 - St Charles Owl - 22-01-2016 (22-01-2016, 19:17)peiowl Wrote: London to Yorkshire. I don't think the distance has anything to do with it, its the culture aspect that seems to be sometimes a stumbling block with players. Charlie Austin apparently would not agree to a move north of London, something I am not sure a player has ever publicly said but its often assumed with some transfers. When you are a pro-footballer, earning a few thousand quid a week, then London is the place that offers you plenty of relatively anonymous options for a night out, whereas a city like Sheffield has far fewer options. RE: The Push for Promotion - Act 2 Season 2015-16 - peiowl - 22-01-2016 I get that. Only with respect to leaving London, though, as it is a major cultural destination. Most other cities in Britain are not that much different from one another. But, I think people are a bit more mobile than they used to be when I was growing up. Back then, entire families (mine being one) never ventured outside the city walls to live. I'm still the only one not living in Sheffield. Tbh., I couldn't live in London - not jut its cost of living, but I just don't like massive cities anymore - except to visit. RE: The Push for Promotion - Act 2 Season 2015-16 - Maddix - 22-01-2016 Lifted from Aunty ![]() Gary Hooper has the best minutes per goal rate of any Championship player to have scored more than five times, netting every 112 minutes. Add that to what we should get from FF as well then that should see us into the playoffs unless the defence completely collapses most games!! I was thinking more along the lines of how SCO explained it. Some people really think London is the dogs bollox (personally I think the exact opposite) and can't imagine their lives outside it. More so, as Charlie also put. A footballer on a few grand a week has doorstep access to just about anything he wants. Sheffield just doesn't have what London has. Pro's & Con's to both. Depends on the individual RE: The Push for Promotion - Act 2 Season 2015-16 - Towinjustonce - 22-01-2016 Good news about Hooper. Hopefully 1-2 more to follow. A real lift for the fans and the season that Hooper wanted to sign and has done RE: The Push for Promotion - Act 2 Season 2015-16 - Washington - 22-01-2016 (22-01-2016, 20:11)Maddix Wrote: Lifted from Aunty But the other stat is that Reading are second to Hull in number of shots taken so I hope Westwood is fit and the team make sure we close them down well. |
