Callum McManaman will have a medical at West Brom on Tuesday, according to Sky sources.

McManaman has agreed a three-and-a-half-year contract and will cost Albion between £4m and £5m if the transfer from Wigan goes through.

Good news and bad news (well...) for West Brom

West Brom are close to sealing a deal for Wigan winger Callum McManaman - and could get it over the line TODAY.

The Baggies have made three bids for the 23-year-old over the last week or so with Tony Pulis believed to be a big fan.

McManaman is valued at around £6m by the Latics but the Birmingham Mail say that a fee is close to being agreed at around £4.5m.

There looks to be less positive news in the shape of Shola Ameobi, however. Albion were thought to be very interested in the free agent Nigerian but with Crystal Palace circling it appears he will be heading elsewhere this month.

Expect West Brom to be active players before Monday’s deadline with a striker, midfielder and a full-back all on Pulis’ radar.

I make that good news and more good news... Whistle

Also 3.5 year contract for a 30 year old who has had major illness problems will probably cool JP.

If Luke Daniels has gone to Scunthorpe and Myhill is injured, should we be looking for a keeper? Or will we trust the kids?

The only reason we let Daniels go was because they felt Jack Rose could step up to third choice on return from his loan at Accrington Stanley.
