RE: Next WBA Manager - All News, Rumours & Speculation - WBA-Josh - 10-06-2019 I wouldn’t be against Adkins. We could do a lot worse than him. Did a good job with Hull City when you consider the budget and squad he had at his disposal and likes his teams to play a bit. He could even bring Henriksen with him to partner Livermore in his 4231. He likes playing with inverted wingers so could get the best out of Phillips by playing him on the left wing and his full-backs usually get forward which would suit Gibbs. Anyway I still want Bilic or Labbadia. RE: Next WBA Manager - All News, Rumours & Speculation - Blue Baggie - 10-06-2019 (10-06-2019, 15:11)WBA-Josh Wrote: I wouldn’t be against Adkins. Billic is rumored to be struggling with the budget restrictions and his early reported targets all West Ham - Byram (as RB) looks OK Broune (Mid) looks OK / but the mention of Andy Carroll doesn't inspire me at all. If he came we best get the Hydropool ready. RE: Next WBA Manager - All News, Rumours & Speculation - Beefy 1965 - 11-06-2019 Slaven Billic on the verge of becoming WBA's new manager mattwilson@expressandstar Albion enter final stages of talks with Slaven Bilic as contract offer sent to lawyers #wba https://t.co/VBUHxIj6Zr robdorsett@sky.com Slaven Bilic is close to agreeing a deal to become #wbafc new Head Coach. A number of face-to-face meetings have taken place with Albion’s bosses. At first there was “substantial distance” between the sides over salary, there is now broad agreement on that, and other key issues. RE: Next WBA Manager - All News, Rumours & Speculation - Blue Baggie - 11-06-2019 Bilic as our new man - big name, but a big job in front of him. He's never shown a interest in playing youngsters so he may not be the team builder we need. I will back who ever comes in 100% as long as he's not a Dowling puppet. RE: Next WBA Manager - All News, Rumours & Speculation - Stairs - 12-06-2019 Must admit this appointment excited me. I can’t imagine him being a puppet to Dowling and that might have been one of the reasons it’s taken so long to conclude. Here’s hoping. As always, on day one, I am 100% behind the manager. RE: Next WBA Manager - All News, Rumours & Speculation - Beefy 1965 - 12-06-2019 Nearly done, good old Percy is on board which is always good news!!! Looks like it is almost there with Bilic Daily Mail reporting 3 year contract agreed. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7130755/Slaven-Bilic-set-named-West-Brom-boss-agreeing-three-year-deal-Championship-club.html Overall I am cautiously optimistic with the proviso that he gets time to work. RE: Next WBA Manager - All News, Rumours & Speculation - Salopbaggie - 12-06-2019 To be honest I have given up listening to this type of report until the pen hits the paper, we are still waiting for Harper to sign (very doubtful now), something which was supposed to happen by the end of the week, about 4 months ago. Owen Windsor supposed to sign on the 7th, now on the 12th still no news (though I may have missed that one). As I have said before, the jury is out on Bilic for me and the fact he has only been able to get a job in management for 6 month out of the last two years and that being in Saudi Arabia, before he was sacked from that job as well, does not fill me with confidence. But we have to support the guy, if he is signs and hope that he does an amazing job, I guess we could have done worse, time will tell. RE: Next WBA Manager - All News, Rumours & Speculation - drewks - 12-06-2019 IMO a fantastic signing for us, end of. Imagining who we COULD have been saddled with, given our position as a club, and our board - this excites me. Rock on, Tommy! If it is Bilic then I’d like to see him use his contacts from his old clubs. Oxford and Byram permanent and Diamgana on loan from West Ham could be good, young additions to the squad. We were linked with Tolgay Arslan last week who was with Bilic at Beşiktaş and maybe Bilic could entice Oğuzhan Özyakup to the club on loan also from Beşiktaş as well. He used to be at Arsenal in his younger days. RE: Next WBA Manager - All News, Rumours & Speculation - Blue Baggie - 13-06-2019 Gary Monk now enters the arena, that's a slap for Bilic. I would now put Monk as favourite or Bilic would have already been in place IMO. Monk is a cheaper option then Bilic so Jenkins will be having lunch with him today. The Bilic deal may have just hit an iceberg. Rumour has it Bilic has run to the solicitors and signed a 2 year contract on news of Monks availability? |
