RE: WBA vs Millwall - Match Thread - BaggieMan - 10-08-2019 The good news is seeing the Vile get a whupping at Spurs. Long may the whupping continue plus with any luck, the downfall of the Dastardly Dingles will start at Leicester. C’mon you Foxes!!! RE: WBA vs Millwall - Match Thread - Arcane Astral Aeons - 10-08-2019 i paid to watch it...positives?.........hardly if any some good positions and what happened backwards sideways no point crossing when the chance arose no one in the area Zohore..sorry for me not good enough ref had a total mare..fell into Millwalls spoiling tactics very early on Hanging on a little at the end but a point is better than non just my input RE: WBA vs Millwall - Match Thread - WBA-Josh - 10-08-2019 Didn’t watch the match because I was at work (only on Saturdays) but I’m ok with the result as it means another point. 4 points from 2 is a decent start in my opinion. The good news is that it was the same team as last week. With Austin, Pereira, Diangana and Willock to train with the squad more next week, we should see more of them in the squad and in the 11 and then see a real difference. If they were all in today with this result, I’d be a little worried. RE: WBA vs Millwall - Match Thread - drewks - 10-08-2019 Awh cmon. OK, I didn't pay to watch it, but the fact that you did surely doesn't make you blind to the fact that we have 4/5 more creative players JUST signed. Even then it's going to be what..... 4 or 5 weeks before they start to gel as a team, and SB's tactics and selections can be properly judged. IMHO any points between now and then are a bonus. Because i think they should've been options from the bench. Diangana at least, as he was a regular in pre-season for West Ham. TBH I'd have took a punt on Austin as well, even if he was fit for 10 mins. At least he's a proper striker. Zohore, Phillips, Edwards and Phillips were all really poor today... But all we had to bring on was HRK and Burke. We fill our bench with the likes of the dross Conor Townsend, who offers bugger all. IMO a left back is a waste of a sub when Brunt is already on the bench as cover. Especially against sides like Millwall as home. I was being pedantic about paying to watch, but it's really frustrating to be called negative after watching that utter tripe and airing frustrations. As for Bilic, it's harsh to criticise him so soon, but how he took 80 minutes to see that the awful Jake Livermore needed changing is beyond me. I get very worried when managers can't see things that are obvious. I was slated on here when I called Pardew a "muppet" after the 2nd game, but I couldn't hold back as his mistakes were so obvious. The decisions made by Bilic today were on that level. I just hope he learns. Would I have been happy with 4 points at this stage before the season started? Absolutely. But after watching today's game, it was 2 points lost. The draw itself wasn't the big problem though, it was the nature of it. Never at any point did we press for the win, have them pinned back or test them. We looked clueless like we didn't know what to do. Our goal and chance were both a result of their errors. RE: WBA vs Millwall - Match Thread - wba1978 - 11-08-2019 You were 100% right about about Pardew Slick, I didn't like his appointment from the start either... (wanted Potter). Just praying your wrong about Bilic. Cant handle another season of mindless team selections and tactics. (sometimes blind faith with BD from me if I'm honest) I'll hold my tongue for a couple of weeks though... But it was pretty woeful. Still so gutted we couldn't get Gayle RE: WBA vs Millwall - Match Thread - Dingle-Dingle - 11-08-2019 Can`t believe the club paid £8M for Eeyore. Another 7M and we could have had 20+ goals. DD ![]() ![]() RE: WBA vs Millwall - Match Thread - WBA-Josh - 11-08-2019 With regards to the lack of new signings on the bench yesterday, my guess is it will be because Slaven will have spent all week working with the 18 involved yesterday going over tactics, in possession, out of possession, set-pieces etc and probably didn’t want to chuck a couple of the new players into the mix after only 1 training session because it would be very difficult to get them up to speed in 1 day. We should see a couple involved on Tuesday and then all 4 of them in some capacity next Saturday. RE: WBA vs Millwall - Match Thread - betterthanbaird - 13-08-2019 May as well carry on in here for the cup game, how many of the new boys are we expecting to start tonight? |
