FFS Arsenal. Angry

To be quite honest, any prediction involving Arsenal is pure guesswork, even though I got lucky today. As seen with Town, you can have all the possession in the world, it's what you do with it that counts.

Typical Arsenal, hammer us then lose at Bornmuff with what sounded a decidedly average display on the radio driving down the M6. We need to be a lot better in those first 15 minutes of the second half. I'm losing count of how many teams have scored and taken the game away from us in those few minutes. Whatever is in the half-time drinks is acting like a dose of mogadon. Either that or they are wolfing down a 3 course meal at half-time.

It would appear the Blue Mancs are copying us Whistle

Had a couple of evenings to ponder this result and. Have to say I'm still as disappointed now as I was at 5pm on Saturday.

Not one of our starting line up did themselves any justice on Saturday. Smith,Mooy and Hogg looked slow all afternoon. Our wingers hardly got forward with the ball and if we got down the side and round the back of them once then we failed to get a decent ball in.
At 3-1 I was saying he might as well being Pritchard on now for Lolley but Wagner waited too long. By the time he did the subs the score was 4-1 and we were well and truly out of it. At 3-1 he still had a chance to change the way the game was going...at 4 it was a pointless exercise.

RE: Terriers v Hammers match thread - theo_luddite - 15-01-2018

Tell the Liverpool fans who were delirious at 4-1 up on Sunday but biting their nails with 2 minutes to go that it would have been pointless if we'd have had a go. Pritchard came on with 25 minutes to go and Kongolo with 20. How many shots on goal did we have in that time? Pritchard's free kick, that was it. It was pointless because we ran the clock down passing the ball around the back 4 (3?) rather than having a real go. You'd have thought we were 4-1 up not West Ham. We had 2 shots on target in 90+ minutes so the other one was Lolley's goal, how the hell do we expect to win games doing that? The Blue Mancs had 2 in the last 5 minutes, scored with both and had all the Scousers (with Norwegan accents) schitting themselves, especially when the net rippled in the last minute only to be wide and offside anyway.

In other news - you can play 2 up front and win games, but I don't expect us to change our formation as a result of what we will have supposedly learned from this game or the Leicester game. Smoke thread bubbling - another new bloody manager .... Angry

I know we never looked like scoring in the 2nd half, but we didn't look like we would against Chelsea until big Lolo glanced one in. A consolation goal could (unlikely) be the difference between staying up and going down. So why, with 5 subs, 3 lengthy goal celebrations and 2 injury stoppages, were there only 2 minutes added on time at the end of the match? Huh

Think the ref was meeting a certain Mr. Phillips at the station, maybe?

RE: Terriers v Hammers match thread - WakeyTerrier - 16-01-2018

Big difference between Man City having a go at 4-1 down and Huddersfield Town.

They've scored 67league goals this season...we have 19
They've got Sane,Aguero,Sterling,Silva...we've got Depoitre,Monié,VLP and Lolley

RE: Terriers v Hammers match thread - theo_luddite - 16-01-2018

Yeh, but most of our possession is in our half where we'll never score from. A far larger percentage of theirs is in the opposition half and they shoot when they get there rather than passing corners back their keeper. We don't shoot, we don't score.
