Told you we would win with that team Whistle

Must say Bournemouth never really bothered us at all

Thats a worry for them

So if these 5 signings come off maybe room for optimism Thumb up

Our Egyptian Nesta looks the business Thumb up

A positive start to the season with everyone doing their job well. The defence was a great unit and the attacking side of our game looked promising in the first half with Rodriguez and Phillips as quick outlets for the counter-attack. The second half was poor from us but fortunately Bournemouth were no better and too predictable.

We still need at least four new signings though.

Will Dawson get a ban for that stamp? I couldn't decide if it was deliberate or not. There is plausible deniability, but he did put his foot down unusually hard I thought.

Looked a naughty one to me, but think it would be very difficult to prove it. Hopefully we'll get away with it.

Very pleased with the result ....

Wafer thin 1 Bournemouth 0

A little concerned that we only managed 29% possession against one of the smaller boys in the league

Concerned also that we still seem to be suffering with last season's problems ..... 16 shots only 6 on target 9 off target, last season slumped not just because we put our sandals on but because we did not take the c h dances we created.

But onwards to turf moor ...... Another three points there and it sets us up for the clayheads ....

Although most of us despair at the amountvif possession we have, its the way TP plays and it did not seem to hinder us from creating chances and having 16 attempts on goal. The bigger concern for me is our complete inability to convert those chances into goals; it was a big problem last season and it looks like it could well be an issue this season as well. For me, this is why we desperately need a natural goalscorer ( I appreciate every team wants one as well as us) - I'm hoping Rodriguez may be more prolific than Rondon but I think we need another striker as well as those two. It would be interesting to find out how many of our 16 attempts were NOT a result of a set piece. Perhaps someone could post if they know

Seems a strange team selection on a few points (is Mozza injured? Not even on the bench), but non of us know what limitations TP had that prompted THAT starting XI.....and you've got to hand it to him - to win with that team today is some achievement no matter who the opposition (no slur intended on Bournmouth) .

We looked good first half. Hegazi could end up being our best signing for years. Jay Rod looked sharp and was unlucky not to score. McCleans effort is immense, I wish others had his energy and work rate.

1-0 up at half time, we knew what was coming. Typical Pulis Sit back and soak up the pressure which led to them having all the possession. Luckily for us they were poor.

It was nice to see Megson patrolling the line again. A decent start and a welcome 3 pts to stop the rot if the end of last season.
I was In loads of traffic surrounded by Bournemouth fans who were moaning about Eddie Howe which surprised me a bit.

Just home, Hegazi excellent, Rodriguez looked good but faded, Sam Field looks more mature than his 19 years. Bournemouth passing side-to-side 30 yards from goal never going to threaten, referee shocking, Dawson, what was he doing?

James McLean, outstanding, breaking up attacks then sprinting up to support Phillips or Rodriguez Fantastic effort
