One of the best comments I've read is from Craig Mailer of Soccerbase who tweeted, 'Not a fan of Neil Lennon but anyone who can singlehandedly 'wind up' so many Rangers fans deserves some credit and respect'! Touche Craig and great to see so many poisonous huns 'getting their noses rubbed in it', post debacle of the Scottish Cup final 2016 and nowt for them to shout about either from a footie perspective.

And what did he do anyway? Something that goes on in football every day. lafferty gave the celtic fans the finger,dorrans did a GIRFUY at motherwell fans last week,countless other examples.... and that's why the police will do nothing.
The SFA will no doubt pull him up for it though. The way they tiptoe around their filthy, bigoted support isn't surprising but it never fails to annoy.

The latest news is that Police now investigating death threats against Neil Lennon. So the referee, Beaton, has been the subject of death threats and now, unsurprisingly, Lenny subjected to the same poisonous elements that support this toxic footie club!! Anybody noticed there is a historical 'pattern' unfolding where the main offender is Rangers FC and certain toxic factions of it's fans who really should be taking up a far more therapeutic sport like tiddlywinks!! I can reflect back to the formal sectarian complaint of Hibs non exec director, Frank Dougan, who was subjected to similar intimidation and threats on behalf of the bigots! Then there was the Scottish Cup final where Rangers FC and it's minion support + it's biased media hit a 'total meltdown' after their end of season 2016 'dream' was shattered by a rampant Hibs team who lifted the Scottish Cup and they 'couldnae take it on the chin' in the same way that Hibs fans have endured such disappointment in years gone by!! I don't see any consistent historical evidence of this kinda angst initiated by Hibs fans because we don't do that shit!! However, there is a bigger issue re Rangers FC and the shit that emanates from the club and certain toxic factions of it's fans and media who cannae just 'shut their faces' and move on after taking another beating! IMO the 1872 group is part of the voice of the executive board and they should know better than being involved in such a 'storm in a tea cup' and I think these f####rs are due a severe dressing down by an appropriate governing body, preferably from within the Scottish govt. I also think Hibs should come out with an official statement condemning the sectarian bile and angst against Neil Lennon - IMO conveniently ignored again in this story and not the first time either!
However, I fully expect Hibs/Leeann to hold to a 'softly softly approach' and just let these huns 'do all the shouting' and make fools of themselves AGAIN!

Houston has done worse to us,skacel and nicholson have taunted the hibs fans worse than that tae and we never went running to the police.

Aye Jim - well put! The hun perception is that Lenny is supposed to stand back and endure the abuse from all those Rangers fans and just 'take it'! Only he's not that kinda manager! It's a fact that, had Rangers actually won the match, we wouldn't have heard a 'peep' from them apart from the gloating and triumphalism! It`s a stone wall certainty that the beaks will dish out a ban to Lenny and completely ignore the abuse he had to take all during the match,
For years Rangers fans have gotten away with their "inflammatory" singing and bile and they come over all insulted and taken aback when someone dares stand up to them.
It could only happen in Scotland-any other country would have banned them by now.

I thought I would let the dust rest before commenting
First well deserved win, after seeing the Huns vs Murderwell last week I though that if hibs can defend they will score easily against that defence.
Second Stokes should have went, no issues straight red after manhandling taveneer.
Third Jacks red was deserved no issue about that.
The treatment in the press of Lennon, (would the press refer to Sir Cardigan as Smith, Or jolly fat Salary as McCoist...no of course they wouldn't).
He is being demonised for what a gesture not even a rude one. What I find most annoying is not one of our glorious seekers of news and truth have the gut to preface the story with context that he was being subjected to racist and sectarian abuse that is accepted at Ibrox.

Tavernier tried to elbow stokes in the face and stokesy has just went "xxxx have it" and tossed him aside like a wet dishcloth. There was a lot of those kind of battles going on once the game settled down and we were entirely prepared for it. Could he have been sent off? Possibly but it wasn't as straightforward as some are saying.
As for lennon all I hear is how he was provoking with his gesture to the crowd,but the crowd were certainly provoking him and it would be common sense for the SFA to take that into account if there is a hearing. The police will do xxxx all,he hasn't broken any laws, apart from standing up for himself.

I think a special mention must be made on behalf of Leeann and the members of the Hibs board who attend and represent the club at this game but are also subjected to some of the worst forms of abuse and intimidation. I base that comment on having very occasionally sat in the midst of these shenanigans and also read the same criticism from folk who were located in the main stand at Ibronx. There is no doubt in my mind that a lotta this shit is 'fueled' by drink and it surprises me that we still 'live in the dark ages' when it comes to this kinda aggro in, or around, the executive areas of certain Scottish footie stadia where the easy solution is to randomly locate plain clothes Police officers to deal with clear criminal offences. In the case of Leeann, 'the tash' and other Hibs board members, they 'turn a blind eye' and ignore the b######s - that is the protocol that the club applies - bizarre in this day n age!

Re the Stokes incident, in my mind it was a definite red card offence and Stokes was a very lucky man to get away with it. He was fouled twice in the build-up and wasn't letting Tavernier get away with that. Other than that, I totally agree with what hibeejim and others have said, especially about the "toys out of the pram" attitude that The Rangers have had for a long time now, well, since they were formed.
At least The Rangers' shirt sponsors have predicted the correct score in the last 3 games and managed to get the card colour right as well.
