RE: Wembley Match thread - WakeyTerrier - 26-05-2017 All covered Theo, emailed Robyn Deegan at the start of the week and as I suspected because my flag is under 250cm it's ok, besides that it has a fire certificate. Expect to see it hanging up under the big screen somewhere. RE: Wembley Match thread - Lord Snooty - 26-05-2017 Mr and Mrs Hoyle have just set off for Wembley. Going on their pushbikes, which says it all about modern rail prices when even somebody that rich has to go on his bike rather than the train. ![]() Anyway, Harry Gration was there if you want to see the grand depart on Look North tonight. Will keep an eye out Wakey from my lofty perch by halfway. ![]() RE: Wembley Match thread - Lord Snooty - 26-05-2017 Reading's play off record: 1995: First division (Championship) Tranmere Rovers 1–3 Reading Reading 0–0 Tranmere Rovers Bolton Wanderers 4–3 (a.e.t.) Reading 2001: Second division (League One) Wigan Athletic 0–0 Reading Reading 2–1 Wigan Athletic Reading 2–3 (a.e.t.) Reading So that's 3 finals and 3 final defeats. Let's make it 4 out of 4. ![]() Their finals have all been goal fests as well, whereas ours tend to be 120 minutes of drabness, settled by a penalty shoot out. We haven't even scored a goal in a final since Chris Billy's goal in 1995, but we won't let that worry us. ![]() RE: Wembley Match thread - SHEP_HTAFC - 26-05-2017 With our goalscoring record....I don't see it being a goal fest. My only big worry is with our defence. We seem to always make a mistake....and very rarely keep a clean sheet. If we can keep it tight at the back, there is no reason why we can't do this. I'm not going to the game....couldn't really justify the expense of flights/hotel/ticket/trains/beer when I'm trying to save for a holiday of a lifetime for me and my 18 year old daughter. Instead I've booked out an area in a pub in Glasgow city centre with at least 16 people going...all supporting Town. Most of these are Rangers or Celtic fans normally. It'll be a nervy day!!!!! UTT RE: Wembley Match thread - WakeyTerrier - 26-05-2017 I'll be asking advise on Glasgow pubs and Restaurants next week Shep, going up for a long weekend to watch Scotland and England and need to find somewhere they won't kick my heed in RE: Wembley Match thread - jjamez - 26-05-2017 Anyone nervous/excited yet? RE: Wembley Match thread - EastLondonTerrier - 26-05-2017 My nerve levels are currently 8.5/10 and its 3 days to go. The more I think about the implications and consequences of what would happen if we win, a different part of me is visualising the hell that we'll go through if we lose. Madness. Don't know how DW is keeping the players calm. RE: Wembley Match thread - jjamez - 26-05-2017 I'm just preparing for us to have come this far and be so near but fall at the last hurdle RE: Wembley Match thread - themaclad - 26-05-2017 Enjoy the day not been to the Mad Stad so if they stay down can get it in next season, in the light of this week events stay safe |
