RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Brentford FC Aug 6th 20016 - Lord Snooty - 06-08-2016 Hey up, ART. Just thought it were a while since you've commented. Glad you're still here. ![]() Now if only we could get Marco back! ![]() Last match on the Football League Show gain. We ought to be first on next week when we beat Newcastle. ![]() RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Brentford FC Aug 6th 20016 - Mirf - 06-08-2016 (06-08-2016, 19:56)Lord Snooty Wrote: I'm reliably informed it was Yeovil in 2007, Mirf. You are correct Snoots - we beat Yeovil 1-0 in 2007/08 season. We also beat Bournemouth in the first game at home 1-0 in 2001/02. So I was wrong on two counts, due to senile decay. ![]() RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Brentford FC Aug 6th 20016 - Lord Snooty - 07-08-2016 And of course we had that win at Notts County, but today was the first home win on the opening day for 10 seasons. RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Brentford FC Aug 6th 20016 - jjamez - 07-08-2016 Hopefully as the season progresses we can continue to gel and build on todays performance. Also force a handful of 'expert' pundits to shove their predictions up their rear end. How long before these 'experts' change tune and start dancing to the valkeries? Excellent result yesterday, first half some decent football only let down by our finishing...tbf Kachunga got closer with every chance. RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Brentford FC Aug 6th 20016 - WakeyTerrier - 07-08-2016 I meant que sera sera in case anyone couldn't figure that out. ![]() RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Brentford FC Aug 6th 20016 - Lord Snooty - 08-08-2016 Newcastle tweeted that Saturday looks like being a complete sell out. Over 50,000 sold. RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Brentford FC Aug 6th 20016 - MNTerrier - 08-08-2016 Due to my dad nor being able to get me a ticket by his usual seat we ended up in the Kilner bank for what will be the only game I can get to, very enjoyable game and you get the feeling they can play better, could be a very good season. The Ref was shocking though, several times the lino in front of us ,either flagged one way or not at all, no more than 10 foot from play with full sight of the ball, only for the ref to give it the other way when a quarter of the field away and unsightly to the ball, what's the point of linos if the refs ignore them, one of the incidents was the free kick right before Brentford scored On the plauers Ward: solid little to do but did it well Smith and lowe, very good. Smiths delivery for the goal was the best cross of the game Schindler and higg, didn't notice them in the first half, given their job means they were probably playing well Hudson, sad to say looked a good half step of the pace and looked the weak link in the team Mooy and payne ran the show most of the game , looks an exciting pair Lolley, got in good positions but takes it a step too far at times RVLP strong got into good positions ,should have scored just before Palmer did Kachunga, ran his socks off took his goal well, needs to work on finishing Palmer, exciting young player, good reflexes to pick up the loose ball for his goal Paurevic didn't play long enough for me to form and opinion Scannell wad very much what we expect from scannell RE: Huddersfield Town Vs Brentford FC Aug 6th 20016 - Lord Snooty - 08-08-2016 The decision to award Brentford a free kick, from which they scored was pathetic. Doesn't excuse the defence switching off though. |
