RE: Norwich vs WBA - Match Thread - 4evaabaggie - 24-10-2015 We only need one goal. We only need one goal. We only need one goal one goal. St Charles yes we are eighth in the rich league and I agree with your sentiments tottally, there are many fans who would switch places in a heartbeat so we should be thankful but as God is my witness the football is shit, can we compromise stay up slightly lower, watch good football and be entertained. Money is not everything and it is money that is destroying the workingmans game. Do not lose at any cost, poor run, sack the manager. Oh for the heady days of fair play and level playing fields. But what a win, we are eighth nearly a third of the season gone, villa ars shit and the champions are below us ..... here's hoping for better but for now Come on you BAGGIES. I guess he's the one person over any other that ALL of us want to see in the team ATM McClean had his best game so far for us yet too I thought and while I'm definitely not his biggest fan, I'm very happy he's proving me and other doubters wrong of late. Sess also did a fantastic job when asked to track back today and I can definitely see him keeping his place in the first team for quite some time based on todays performance. I guess he's the one person over any other that ALL of us want to see in the team ATM From the way he played today, I'm guessing him and Pulis have sat down and had a good long talk. It looks like Sess is allowed to break forward and take a few risks as long as he's also prepared to bust a gut getting back and challenging opponents when necessary, which is the kind of balance we need. There's no doubt in my mind that we look ten times better as a football team when he's on the pitch. Overall, really pleased with today. We're improving again, though there'll no doubt be setbacks in weeks to come. Chuffed to see the efforts of J-Mac and Rondon finally get the reward they've deserved for a while. Not as much up and under as we've seen in recent weeks. We're starting to look as if we've got the best team out of the whole squad out there. They may not be the best individual players in the squad but you can see that they are gelling into a team. We were quite comfortable defensively for the most part. Everyone did their job I thought. The wingers both went past their opponents regularly. Sess is crucial but he's not a winger and he keeps cutting in. Well done to rondon on his goal, hopefully there are many more to come for him. We created quite a lot of opportunities. Not as much up and under as we've seen in recent weeks. Spot on. There was one moment (late in the first half?) when Jonny Evans had the ball on the edge of our box with Norwich pressing; I braced myself for the inevitable hoof upfield, but instead he played a good lateral ball to McAuley, and McAuley also kept it on the deck and worked it into midfield. They seemed to be making a conscious effort to play out from the back when possible, which is all we can really ask. However it does frustrate me that as soon as we score 1 goal, you just know that will be the last you see of any play in the opponent's half for the rest of the game. To be fair, it's not a crime to want to see your team put the nail in the coffin with a second goal against a weaker side. We tend to circle the wagons instinctively after going a goal up, and as a fan watching that, you just end up waiting patiently for the final whistle without the excitement and anticipation of really being able to outclass your opponent and have the final score reflect your superiority. It's efficient and workmanlike, and yes, it's preferable to losing, but hoping for a two-goal or even three-goal win occasionally is hardly Icarus going warp speed for the sun, surely? RE: Norwich vs WBA - Match Thread - Dingle-Dingle - 25-10-2015 Did anyone else notice the look of relief on Doron`s face when that goal went in. Seemed to lift a whole load of worries off the lad.
