I know. That's $51K Can. I could get a luxury car for that price. Brand new Honda Civic here costs about 11-12K pounds sterling and they're offering interest rates as low as 0%.

That's why it's called 'rip-off' Britain these day's PEI  Angry The list price for the model I've just bought is a shade under 26K brand new  Angry but we don't have a lot of choice in the conglomerate price fixing realm we live in today. A ten year old banger will set you back at least 1.5K on these shores  Angry Think yourself lucky that you don't have to live here but don't get jealous of proper bacon and sausage sandwiches with Daddy's Sauce either  Whistle

This is my mid life crisis summer 'toy' car. Now 20 yrs old but with only 64K miles.  Has the same V8 engine as the corvettes of that year !!!!

Here you go Maddix, I will even move the posts so far on the subject.

RE: Maddix's Top Gear thread for all things car! - peiowl - 11-09-2015

Even as far back as '69 when I moved to Canada, car prices were cheaper here. Even cheaper in the US. We do have a sales tax to add to our prices. This varies from 5% (Alberta) to 15% (Nova Scotia). We're 14% in PEI.

Same here Pei, ranges here from 6% to as much as 10% but in some states the sales tax is 0%, for me here in CA I think its 8%. Still not as high as VAT in Britain though!!!

20% VAT and there's talk of it going up further as well Doh
