In saying that, the fans I'm sure wanted bigger leagues and the question would have to be would a realignment of teams/enlargement of leagues be acceptable if hibs and Rangers were in the top league already?
If the answer is yes, the people shouldn't pay attention to which teams would benefit and should examine the own motives for criticising - for many it'll just be a dislike of Rangers and Hibs.
What I wouldn't like to see is enlargement followed in quick succession by reduction again.
