Villa 4-0 up. How I hate them AND Sherwood. Suspect Sunderland will be looking for a new manager soon

Wow, how do you like your games, nervy or what? Watching it on BBC Sports website, it appears it was routine, but one goal is often not enough but we hung on, and credit to the team. Big win that. Eleven points clear of the drop zone now and you have to say the bottom three won't catch us. Well done TP, you avoided the Manager of the Month banana skin and delivered Albion's first-ever home win against Stoke since the PL began.

Hurrah! For me that's job done. Well played Tony Pulis, the walking wounded and JP for being brave.

The summer is close, a budget to be agreed and a spending spree to be enjoyed.

The transfer window will be a pleasure to administer.

Cracking win, all but safe.

1-0 flatters Stoke, should have been a comfortable 2 or 3. Think every one of our players had a good game today, Sessegnon has to be my MOTM though, gives us that outlet and quality on the ball - love watching him play.

Great win!!!!

And who's fault was THAT then, Mark Hughes? Can't be yours, and your teams are obviously always beyond criticism with the opposition ALWAYS being unfair to your teams if they lose.

Great, great player but such a whinning, moaning manager when things don't go to plan Angry

How many points do we need now? That puts us on 33 - 11 more than QPR & Burnley with Leicester already looking gone. Can't see the first 2 even getting to 33 myself... Cool

Thought we played very well today. Do we need both Yacob AND Fletcher at home? Not for me Confused

Great win. We should have been out of sight by half time.

I reckon one more win will seal it.

Well done TP... Thumb up

Well well don't we look like a much better attacking team that looks dangerous when Sess plays??? The guy is fantastic to watch and it baffles me how he is on the bench every week. Was terrific today and has to start week in week out - he's our best player!!!

Good job we got the lead today as our bench consisted of 5 defenders and 1 midfielder. No attacking options at all. Maybe would have made sense to have Nabi on the bench as an attacking threat if we really needed something different up top. But apart from that a great performance and a special mention to Mozza who was brill today!

Boing boing

11pts and a superior goal difference. Means, not one but many, teams need to win 4 more games than us.

Not good at maths but am pretty sure that is safe enough.
