All 3 goals preventable which is the annoying thing.

First goal was from a Free kick that shouldn't have been a free kick, that didn't help. I can't stand players being rewarded for simulation. Refs done it all game so far.

The defending has been poor and Windarse is involved with two of the goals against us.
We simply have not put anything together other than the offside goal.
Luck is definitely not on our side today.

Windarse off at HT he's non existent unless it's to benefit Sunderland.
Lowe off too

Ugbo and Kobacki on. It can't be worse.

A training ground free kick, a mistake by Windass and a ball in the box deflecting around, three shots on target, three goals. Perfect storm for them, up to us to continue what we are doing and show we can compete even if we still lose this one.

For a large crowd watching their team winning 3-0 in the first half there is absolutely no atmosphere or sound from the crowd!!

I think we can blame Windass for all 3 goals - FK outside the box, failed flick in midfield giving them possession and playing them onside. Just not clicking today and we’re looking like Plymouth were last week. Can see DR making some early changes today.

Awful first half, for so many reasons.

We're very much losing this. It would be nice to get a grip without further capitulation. A goal would be nice but it's difficult to see where that's coming from.
Sunderland seem to have shown up, all of them are up for it. They've had a lot of luck too and a little help from the Ref.

Rohls furious and I completely agree, that was awful.

Not quite sure what DR do at HT. McNeil and Ugbo on for Windass & Lowe maybe. Midfield not at the races.

If I was Plymouth, this scoreline would worry me!! How bad were they?? This game feels like the opposite of that one and while its definitely a cliche and clutching at straws, this sort of scoreline will keep us grounded and show us we have to turn up in every game in every part of the field. Big second half coming up, defensively we have picked up very few second balls, that has to change and when getting forward we need to hold the ball better and find the easy pass through movement not flicks like Windass tried.

Smith coming on for Gasama.

RE: Sunderland v The Owls SBC Match Thread - Washington - 18-08-2024

The stats they just showed at HT weren’t that bad. Like Kev said earlier it was three preventable mistakes.

And that one should have been offside.

Oh, dear, one minute after the restart and again where were we???
