RE: WBA vs Sheffield United & Blackpool - Match Thread - Amelia Chaffinch - 01-11-2022 Carlos likes to do a bit of rotation and experiments with putting square pegs in round holes. Sometimes it's genius! RE: WBA vs Sheffield United & Blackpool - Match Thread - valpayne - 01-11-2022 All the shots all the possession 0 goals and you can guess what’s coming ? RE: WBA vs Sheffield United & Blackpool - Match Thread - Baggie_One - 01-11-2022 They all count Okay couldn’t miss We scored a goal RE: WBA vs Sheffield United & Blackpool - Match Thread - valpayne - 01-11-2022 Well hush my mouth ![]() RE: WBA vs Sheffield United & Blackpool - Match Thread - Blue Baggie - 02-11-2022 1 - 0 win - we will take that. SGM built a promotional team with 1-0 wins. Carlos needs to step up, Diang benched at that's correct, but we all know some others who need retirement never mind the bench. RE: WBA vs Sheffield United & Blackpool - Match Thread - valpayne - 02-11-2022 I know this is a different animal but is there a case for some of this team stepping up its absolutely teaming down here but they are chasing harassing passing scoring and demolishing teams stoke 4-0 villa 6-2 derby 4-2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPOvCtdQO3k RE: WBA vs Sheffield United & Blackpool - Match Thread - Blue Baggie - 02-11-2022 (02-11-2022, 02:08)valpayne Wrote: I know this is a different animal but is there a case for some of this team stepping up They simply must get a chance or someone else will whisk them away. Playing the night before cancelled any chance last night. RE: WBA vs Sheffield United & Blackpool - Match Thread - Slick_Footwork - 02-11-2022 Watched last night after missing the previous two games... Selection was better than at the weekend, with 4 at the back, Yokuslu back in the middle. Still a few dodgy picks, but better at least. But the game was like watching paint dry... Hoofball. No bodies getting forward. Far too much distance between the lines. Was thankful of the win, but if we continue to play like that I think we're in for a real struggle... Only real positives were the performance of Yokuslu and Grady when he came on. The manager needs to work on the relationship between that front 4 because there's too much talent for it to look like a disjointed mess. Wallace needs to play as a right winger as he's not the type for the inverted role. We must be able to get more out of Grady, Swift, Rogic but they have to be playing together in a balanced side. Searching for the balance between these players is surely better than using Phillips, who has seemed like a shadow of his former self for some time now. Finally, the manager needs to realise ASAP that Grant up front on his own is like having a man down. Not seen anything from Thomas Asante to suggest he can make the step up at this level either, but at least he puts himself about, controls the ball and lays it off. Grant is very average on the left side of midfield, can't pass, couldn't beat an egg. But at least he can get some shots off from this position which is his forte. He's an oxygen thief up top. The return of Ajayi and Dike will make a massive difference. But I'd be moving heaven and earth to get a proper striker on board in Jan given Dike's injury record... RE: WBA vs Sheffield United & Blackpool - Match Thread - baggietrousers - 02-11-2022 Generally agree with Slick on just about everything he said. Yokuslu and TGH are a must in the middle of the park, and I thought Phillips showed glimpses of a return to some sort of form. I just can not see the point in Grant at all. He offers nothing and it really is like playing with 10 men. I also just don't get picking someone because they can take a throw in!!! and even they are a waste with little aerial threat in the opposition box. I don't think we won a single ball in the air from a throw in and only one from a corner. There is talent in the squad, and match winning talent at that, but unfortunately it's not Grant, Furlong or Molumby. Stick with TGH and Diang, give more game time to Cleary et al. I still believe we can avoid relegation, but it wont be easy, and that in its self is a really sorry state affairs that the success this season is not getting relegated!!! |
