Thing is - it was Prima Donna League prize money he's accused of pissing into the wind in that second season, not his. On average (give or take) he put around £5m per year into Town. He didn't spend a penny (or a penny more) in the Prima Donna League of his own money so those transfer deals were not part of his loans. Yes he was ultimately responsible for blowing the clubs money but that doesn't mean you deduct that from his loans.

If you bought someone a pint of expensive but shite beer they refused to drink with that £20 I loaned you I'm not having it if you only want to give me £15 back, however if you bought it with a fiver you won on the 'osses it's still coming out of your winnings.

End of the day, Hoyle, Hodgkinson and Evans are business men. You don't get to be that rich without being a bastard to some people along the way.

Out of the three of them, I'd like to see Deano back in sole charge but I don't see that happening.

Why? Because look at the difference between the Coventry and the Swansea games. He's getting the Terrier Spirit back. It was just like the good old days again on Saturday.

As for the artist formerly known as Potless. Did he ever have the money? Was he using Pure Group money to finance the takeover, putting all those people's jobs on the line? If so, that's a big gamble to take. I don't like gamblers. My boss has a lifetime membership of Gamblers Anonymous.  Confused

If Phil didn't have the personal surplus to buy the club he should never have been a candidate to buy the club. Was it he who bought the club or was it pure?

The "boss" at Brentford and FC Midtjylland, Matthew Benham is also a professional gambler. Thing is, he's good at it. Like most that are, he doesn't believe in luck he lives in the world of facts. If you gamble on facts and not fantasy, you are far and away more likely to win in the end. He's got FC Midtjylland into Europe, he's got Brentford into the Prima Donna League and they are likely to stay there this season. Do you think that is luck?

Said it a few years ago that Brentford would end up in the Chumpionship play-offs more often than not (though some disagreed) and er, look where they are now. The way we do it is still more based on luck than good judgment and we'd be once again woefully unprepared if we fluked yet another promotion. How many picked our best back three for this season based on last season?

I'm saying fluked because if you look at what L666s, Wolves, WBA, Fulham, Bournemouth, Boro, Stoke, Direby, Forest, Newcastle, Norwich, Villa amongst others have thrown at it to get there (then stay there in some cases, by no means all of them) in comparison, we've generally invested a bit more than enough to get relegated most seasons.

I like what we have in this division but look at Norwich, scored for fun in this division, can't get passed the halfway line most games up there - well, until Everton turn up.

Fulham were the same last season and when we were both in the Greedy League

He created another "Pure" company as the holding company for his Town investment. He has loads of "Pure"'s to spread the load and the debt and/or profit, hence he hasn't gone completely under and why it's hard to find out how much money he does or doesn't have. Apparently just a tad out of his depth in swimming pool finances right now but a few doggy paddles, buying "failed" businesses at a fraction of the price back out of admin (see some clown called Bates and L666s Utd) and he'll have his foot on the bottom of the pool quite soon one way or another. Whether that's enough to keep his place as HTAFC's Chairlump remains to be seen.
