His goal was 21 months ago & since then he has had terrible injury problems. He might get a few at L1 level but I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole now. The only possible decent goalscorers that may come available are youngsters from the leading PL clubs, who are happy for their potential stars to go out on loan for free. Take Benik Afobe, who has scored 19 goals from 27 games at MK Dons while being on loan from Arsenal. He is tied to MK for this season but there are probably others out there. More likely, we will go for wingers because they are more often out of favour & can improve more with a change of club than strikers do. RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Statesideowl - 02-01-2015 So, Drenthe and Mcgug have returned to parent clubs. Reading likely to sell Drenthe as he's not coming back. Apparently, we're working on bringing Mcgug back Madine staying on at Coventry but with a 24hr recall Hutch supposed to be fit for Forest... RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Thurnscoe_OWL - 02-01-2015 wouldn't take morais. Would take a look at Pozo at Man City. He's young, scored when he came on in the LC game and can't get anywhere near their squad despite only having 1 fit striker RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Towinjustonce - 02-01-2015 Pity about McGugan alright. We had a good run of results with him in the team. He has that quality none of our other players have but we didn't see the best of him as we played him to deep. This could be a possible reason he may not sign !! To those who go and see most games, McGugan has the quality but should we be chasing him as we don't seem to want to play him in an attacking sense his best position, so why should we be after him ?? Should we not be after a player that fits the role he played better ?? I don't know who. But someone who can pass and get around the field better than McGugan. Or should we try get him here and just go with the way he is playing for us currently !! RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Thurnscoe_OWL - 02-01-2015 McGugan plays best when he gets the ball deeper and runs with it himself, if we played him further forward then he'd play with his back to goal and would be counter productive RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Southeyowl - 02-01-2015 The Bradford full back/winger rumour was quashed by SG last month Imre! RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Towinjustonce - 02-01-2015 Ah fair enough Thurnscoe !! Just what I have read he has had reasonable enough games but not been pulling up any trees. So was just wondering if we aren't geting the best out of him then why should we go after him. From memory at Watford and his previous clubs he was always attacking and had a cracking shot on him which resulted in numerous goals. I didn't really see that on a few highlights I've watched. I know he would be a good addition but maybe I expected more goals from him. Do you or anyone think we are getting the best out of McGugan thou ?? RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Southeyowl - 02-01-2015 Few whispers of Chris Burke, coming from Forest! He aint starting many games there, so may be some truth in it! I would take McGugan though, he came close to a belter against Wigan (could have been Blackpool actually ![]() Players I'd have who are realistic: Pozo (man city/loan) LW/RW/FWD Gnabry (arsenal/loan) LW/RW Diego Poyet (W. Ham/loan) CAM (he's EXACTLY a year younger than me which is depressing ![]() Nathan Ake (Chelsea/loan) CB/CM Rolando Aarons (Newcastle/loan) LW/RW I'd think about Ravel Morrison as well but he's a bit of a LAD and could cause unrest RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Statesideowl - 03-01-2015 Hull reportedly after Lees. Can't sell one of our best CB's or the floodgates will open.. I don't think Westwood will be an issue until the end of the season, when the prospect of another ambitionless, un-invested season looms above the club. Again though, 2 million for our star player (Or one of) same as we were offered for Antonio. Seems to me we should be upping these offers to 5 million before we even start to entertain the notion... Clubs still to this day know they can raid us for peanuts. |
