RE: Thread For Anything But Football - St Charles Owl - 04-06-2015 Hawks in 5 or 6, they have too much experience at this level with 17 player who have at least one Stanley Cup win already. Tonight will be crucial as it will set the tone but I expect the Hawks to come out against thee Lightening as they did against the Ducks. Go Hawks!!!!!! RE: Thread For Anything But Football - peiowl - 04-06-2015 Wow. I only saw the first period of last night's game and the Lightning seemed unstoppable. Then, the Lioghtning rallied in the last 6 minutes of the game to take it 2-1. Shouldn't have gone to bed. But then I'm an old man and I need my sleep. ![]() ![]() RE: Thread For Anything But Football - Owlkev71 - 04-06-2015 Couldn't really see the hawks scoring last night and then all of a sudden 2 goals in 2 mins, gotta fancy the Hawks now after winning one on the road. RE: Thread For Anything But Football - St Charles Owl - 04-06-2015 Great comeback win by the Hawks!! Lightning started well but shots by both teams were low and the Hawks were able to take more control as the game went on. Sets them up nicely!! RE: Thread For Anything But Football - Thurnscoe_OWL - 06-06-2015 (03-06-2015, 17:41)Daffodils on the piano Wrote: Have you seen that **** from **** Towie has married Michelle Keegan.I'll give it 6 months before she comes running back. was a sad day for men everywhere RE: Thread For Anything But Football - Daffodils on the piano - 06-06-2015 Michael has told Gail to xxxx off and he's going to try and tackle Eileen but she's too much for him and he keels over.So the door is open for me to steam in and slip Gail one before nailing Liz.Only thing is Gail's husbands tend to end up dead, mind you I'm only having a slice off the loaf. RE: Thread For Anything But Football - St Charles Owl - 06-06-2015 Good weekend of sport over here!! F1 qualifying, with the race tomorrow, French Open Tennis and CL as you guys can see as well. Big event over here is the Belmont Stakes horse race which sees American Paroah going for the Triple Crown after already winning the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness, would be the first horse in 37 years to win the TC!! Tomorrow will also see Game 2 of the NBA finals here in Oakland, with the Golden State Warriors 1-0 up on LeBron and the Cleveland Cavaliers after a brilliant first game!! And of course its also Game 2 of the Stanley Cup in Tampa with the Chicago Blackhawks 1-0 up on the Lightening!! Go Hawks!!! RE: Thread For Anything But Football - Thurnscoe_OWL - 06-06-2015 is the belmont stakes as big as the epsom derby which was also run today? Didn't have a flutter just know Frankie Dettori won it RE: Thread For Anything But Football - St Charles Owl - 06-06-2015 (06-06-2015, 20:47)Thurnscoe_OWL Wrote: is the belmont stakes as big as the epsom derby which was also run today? The big race over here is the Kentucky Derby, but whichever horse wins that one can go for the Triple Crown which makes the Preakness and Belmont Stakes more important as they are the second and third races in the Triple Crown. American Pharoah won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness, so if he wins the Belmont today then he will be the first Triple Crown winner in 37 years. It was last won in 1978 and a previous winner in 1973 was Secretariat, which the movie by that name was about. RE: Thread For Anything But Football - St Charles Owl - 07-06-2015 American Pharoah led from start to finish to be the first horse in 37 years to win the Triple Crown!!! |
