RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - July 17th - drewks - 22-07-2019 (22-07-2019, 18:04)Blue Baggie Wrote: Lots of grumbling going on in the background, none of our new signings are better then the guys who have left apparently? I'm not so sure, the only facts are the previous guys got relegated and were not good enough to get promoted. So they're gone (almost) and the rebuilding is underway. Younger, hungrier, fitter players with a new experienced manager is what we have. COYB. BB - aren't you quoting yourself there then disagreeing??!! Confused.com
RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - July 17th - Beefy 1965 - 22-07-2019 ??? | #WBA West Brom have reportedly enquired about re-signing Mason Holgate on loan from Everton. It’s understood that this won’t affect the potential signing of Darnell Furlong, also a right-back. [Football Insider]? https://t.co/cCYQmmo3iq RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - July 17th - Blue Baggie - 23-07-2019 (22-07-2019, 20:25)drewks Wrote:(22-07-2019, 18:04)Blue Baggie Wrote: Lots of grumbling going on in the background, none of our new signings are better then the guys who have left apparently? I always been with the side has "lacked energy" ever since Olssen, Fletcher, Evans and Barnes moved on. Wether or not the new signings and the youngsters coming through, can be blended together by Bilic, to make a winning formula we don't know. Infinity and beyond as they say. I'm in positive mode. RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - July 23rd - Stairs - 23-07-2019 Well - back from The Open and packing suitcase for family holiday to Croatia - but quick update on Transfer Thread. Starting to look interesting and I would hope lots of movement whilst I am away. Sportsbabble funding has faltered and so I would be grateful to those reading that have not donated, to do so, and for those of you that have (thank you) to spread the word and encourage folk to follow suit. RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - July 23rd - Northwalesbaggie - 23-07-2019 Furlong is in. IMHO a decent signing. AN can now depart with my best wishes. Haven't been impressed by Furlong in the past, would not say he is any better than anybody already at the club. Would have been better off spending the money getting Holgate for another season. RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - July 23rd - WBA-Josh - 23-07-2019 https://www.wba.co.uk/news/2019/july/albion-seal-furlong-deal/ Welcome Darnell Furlong. Hopefully we can beat Espanyol to the signing of Ivań Balliu on a free and right back will then be sorted. Then hopefully follow it up with Holgate on another loan. RB - Balliu, Furlong CB - Holgate, Hegazi, Bartley, Ajayi and O’Shea LB - Gibbs, Townsend RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - July 23rd - Baggievicar - 23-07-2019 I'm struggling to think that we'll shell out to have 5 CBs - unless there's an issue with Gibbs and we're confident that one of them can cover adequately there. I wouldn't like to see Townsend first choice. RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - July 23rd - Blue Baggie - 24-07-2019 As a club we are investing in players who can improve and increase in value. However IMO ATM I have little belief we will get promoted without a proven goalscorer. We could get Gayle, he would cost £25m over 4 years. But if we went up that's not a problem. I guess that our spending is matched by our ambition. It looks more and more like we are settling for EFL football. We have an option now, after this season with the parachute money all but gone. We will never have the chance to get a goal scorer again. So I say get him while we can. |
