RE: 2016 (31st July) - WBA Summer Transfer Window - drewks - 03-08-2016 Looks pretty good to me Josh ![]() RE: 2016 (31st July) - WBA Summer Transfer Window - Beefy 1965 - 03-08-2016 A few whispers going round about John Walters .......... Only rumours though ![]() RE: 2016 (31st July) - WBA Summer Transfer Window - Salopbaggie - 03-08-2016 (03-08-2016, 14:08)WBA-Josh Wrote: Certainly would be a good start, but I still think we need a creative midfielder in there as for me the majority of our midfield players are defensively minded RE: 2016 (31st July) - WBA Summer Transfer Window - BaggieMan - 03-08-2016 (03-08-2016, 15:38)Beefy 1965 Wrote: A few whispers going round about John Walters .......... Walters would be a much better bet coming off the bench than either Cwouchie or Mame Diouf the latter being more akin to Sicknote in my opinion. Plus - any team with Mozza on the bench IMO must have a hellova midfield! ![]() Granted we need a Plan B and even C, and numbers, but that looks like a good starting 11 to me RE: 2016 (31st July) - WBA Summer Transfer Window - Salopbaggie - 03-08-2016 (03-08-2016, 18:48)drewks Wrote:(03-08-2016, 16:38)Salopbaggie Wrote:(03-08-2016, 14:08)WBA-Josh Wrote: A new right back to replace Olsson on the bench and I would say that the team would look good for mid table next season. I agree its a good start, still think we need a creative midfielder though. Phillips would give us the pace down the wings we missed last season, but I am still struggling to see a creative midfielder if we need to play through the middle, otherwise we will become too predictable in our style of play, again like last season. As for Taylor and Schlupp, I doubt we would buy both, as they are similar type players. I think we will be lucky to get Schlupp, but hopefully a great signing if we can. IMO, and this is probably not going to be popular, maybe Chester should start in place of GMac. I know Gmac would run through a wall for the team, but we need to start integrating Chester into the first team, sooner rather then later. Gmac may have another season in him, but what then? We would need to be out looking for a CB for next season and I doubt we would pay for anyone better than Chester, in these days of crazy prices. Still early days yet and I am sure a few more surprises will come our way before closing day. RE: 2016 (31st July) - WBA Summer Transfer Window - SomersetBaggie - 04-08-2016 Dont start putting Sakho into your teams yet, not sure it's going to happen. Rumour has it that he has not even been to the club to have his medical yet. Think he is stalling to see what other oportunities turn up. RE: 2016 (31st July) - WBA Summer Transfer Window - BaggieMan - 04-08-2016 Much as I would like to sign a quality striker, I agree with Somerset. I have nagging doubts about this lad who sounds to me like a another Odemwingie/Berahino type with his Twittering, refusal to go on tour and throwing his toys out of the pram. Just hope it's not a frying pan into the fire job. RE: 2016 (31st July) - WBA Summer Transfer Window - Salopbaggie - 04-08-2016 My concerns as well, as I have previously posted. Should he sign, I also have a concern that his refusal to go on preseason with the Sham, mean for the first six months of the season, all we are going to be hearing is "well the lad did not have a pre season, so he has some catching up to do with the rest of the lads, then he will be on the bench. Followed by ![]() ![]() Just no pleasing some of us is there? ![]() RE: 2016 (31st July) - WBA Summer Transfer Window - Karl_wba - 04-08-2016 First time poster. Been following the site for a while so finally took the plunge and joined up. ? Just noticed we've pulled out of the deal for Sakho. Not sure what to think but looks as though he may have failed the medical. Too many injuries to risk that amount of money although our record of getting players mobile again is quite good, I.e. Fletcher, Jerome Thomas. Unless we have other names in the pipeline it looks as though Berahino will still be with us. |
