Signed a player called Bradley Barry who was released from Swindon. He's 22 and a right sided defender so he can play at right back or right wing back. Swindon fans don't rate him. A Swindon fan says "He's great at crossing out for a goal kick or throw and loves a foul throw".

RE: Summer Transfer Thread - Devongone - 18-05-2017

He's just spent half a season under Tim Sherwood as Director of Football at Swindon so he'll be fully conversant with total bollocks.

He's the right age, started at Brighton, so he'll be used to abuse, and having spent time in Swindon he'll not be looking to plumb any intellectual depths. But we've got him for two years and he does sound the sort to do well in the Vanarama.

Port Vale got Tom Pope, Mansfield got Lee Angol, we got Bradley Manning ........ Reasons to be cheerful, take it away Mr Dury.

Apparently 3 signings will be unveiled tomorrow.

Have we signed Messi, Suarez and Neymar?

RE: Summer Transfer Thread - Dancingwilldoit - 18-05-2017

Am really excited about this signing. Shows our ambition for the coming season.

RE: Summer Transfer Thread - spireitematt - 18-05-2017

Signing players early is a good sign because it means when training for pre-season begins they can gel more and also build a team morale.

Ill judge him when I see him as usual.Who is Lee Angol ?
The two tomorrow could be Joe Anyon and Scott Wiseman both released by Scunthorpe but I'm only speculating on this .

Doh  Doh  Doh  Doh  Doh  Doh

RE: Summer Transfer Thread - Devongone - 19-05-2017

Joe? Anyone? Why would anyone be excited about a No2 keeper, who isn't bad at cricket? Not heard of Lee Angol ........... typical wasteful Peterborough signing. Loaned to non-league, scored lots of goals, got back into Peterborough team, Posh fkkkcked up its management as usual, Angol out, loan at Lincoln, scored goals immediately. I'm sure he's better than the forwards/midfielders we had last season ..........

Still Bradley Manning ......... absolutely ideal for a leaky defence.

Two from Scunny, it would hard to generate less excitement. Does this mean we are playing three at the back or nine? I suppose it also means Tommy Lee is never going to be fit again. By a good age does Guy the Gorilla mean experienced or past it? Clearly Scunny thought their future was behind them.

I remember Joe Anyon when he played against us at Saltergate many years ago for Port Vale. He came out of his area going for the ball against Lester and snapped his leg in a collision.

Scott Wiseman is a good defender. He did well at Rochdale and Barnsley.

RE: Summer Transfer Thread - Devongone - 19-05-2017

To be fair I remember Wiseman doing well for Barnsley. Rochdale rarely do defenders at all ...... but we have to accept the Rochdale connection now.

To be serious, Anyon worries me. His signing either means Dylan Parkin isn't thought good enough to be our No 2 (which he needs to be to make it some day) or Tommy Lee's career is in doubt after a season out.

I wouldn't rate Anyon much higher than Stuckmann. If we are to have 3 keepers that is a waste of a contract.

Interesting that Wiseman says he knows where the club is going and what it wants. Perhaps he should be Chief Executive.
