Absolutely no disrespect to Luton Town, but you realise just how bad is our financial position when we are prepared to sell our #1 keeper for £2.5 million to a club the size of Luton and a team that, in all likelihood, will be playing Championship football next season. Of course, even with a relegation, Luton may still be one league above us next season at this rate. It does seem that every player is available for sale - unsurprisingly, there’s only interest in the good ones so we’ll be left with the dross and the injured.

Who would have even considered this as a possibility this time 2 seasons ago? So sad that every word is true, but I still think we have more chance of playing in the Prem next season than Luton...... if we stop selling our better players and our only players in a certain positions, respect to him man, but with the best will in the world Button is not a Championship keeper.

ps.... Well the good news is, the Luton deal is off.

I remember seeing Maja in the first season of “Sunderland ‘til I Die” and thinking he looked pretty useful. Not sure what’s happened after that.

Good luck to David Button; not exactly one of our best ever keepers but I wish him all the best

Maja looks like a good signing to me. Best signing to date. Was a good player at Sunderland. Mixed reviews at Stoke.

Also happy for a goalie to go, it seems we are willing to lose any one of the 3. It depends what we can get for Palmer or Griffiths as to who goes!

RE: 2023: Summer Transfer Window - Slick_Footwork - 01-08-2023

I saw Maja a few times during his loan spell with Fulham and wasn't impressed. But he was very young then and probably wasn't quite ready for Premier League.

However, in his highlight reel for Bordeaux last season, he looked good. Nice hold up, touches and switches of play. Plus 16 league goals too.

So hopeful that he's matured and just coming into his own.

With 50 goals at 24 years of age, really can't grumble on a free transfer. Must be a better player than Grant, surely.

Good to see we're still trying to make positive moves with the (little) resources that we have. Expect him to be a fairly high earner as there was competition for him, so we haven't thrown in the towel yet.

So with Maja and the youngsters, how do people see the team dynamics up front with BTA, Dike and Maja all being 1st team centre forwards, obviously you only want one out and out centre forward so what is the plan? No comments about we only have 2 because Dike will be injured, as likely as that may be Smile . Is one of them moving on?

If you believe the rumours we could soon have another Striker. From one extreme to the other.

BTA puts a shift in but is not prolific.

Dike will be out, again, for half the season and then will take an age to get motoring so I discount him other than for a few games at end of season and he most likely will trip over his laces and be out for another 6 months.

I am praying that one of these ‘two’ will turn out to be a CC miracle signing.

Forget Dike. Two out of three on the pitch and one on the bench. Attack attack attack.

I would like to see the Ossie principal re-instated....

You score 3, we`ll score 5.
