Here’s some tactical analysis about Labbadia’s Wolfsburg.

https://footballbh.net/2019/03/29/bruno-labbadia-wolfsburg-bundesliga-tactical-analysis/

The author wrote it in March. At that point Labbadia started to move back to the 433 from the 4312 he used in the middle of the season.

The thing with Labbadia is that it’s best to not try to predict what he’s going to do with a new club. He’s not like Klopp or Pulis where you can predict what they’re going to with style, formation, tactics etc. With Labbadia he does what’s best with the squad he has.

For example his Stuttgart team played a counter-attacking style in a 4231 and defended in a compact, 2 banks of 4 style. At Hamburg he blended a possession based game with a counter-attacking game in a 4231, and also used 442, and defended similar to his Stuttgart team. At Wolfsburg its been high pressing possession football blended with more direct football in 433 or 4312 rather than his more preferred 4231 because of Wolfsburg’s abundance of centre midfielders and lack of a quality 10.

Just seen these:

"Reports in the German media suggest Labbadia prepared to talk to his old club Hamburger SV to see what they have to say. They are in a similar crisis situation. He's apparently turned down 2 offers from China. He's due to return to Germany next weekend from his last tour with the Wolfsburg team in China, after which talks with Hamburger SV could take place. The report suggests he's happy to wait for the right challenge. The report quotes Sky Sports saying also talks with Albion planned."

and

"Johnson (Bristol City) has signed a new contract at Bristol city. Another one to scratch off the list of possibles once all the shortlist have turned us down."

I’ll be surprised if Labbadia goes back to Hamburg. He’ll be mad to in my opinion.

He’s been there twice and been sacked twice. First time was in 2010 after only 9 months in charge and then he went back to the club in 2015, saved them from relegation in the play-off and then took them up to 10th in the following season. They sacked him after 5 matches into the new season and that season they only just escaped relegation on the last day of the season. Then they were relegated the season after that and this season they failed to get promoted. Their final downfall started with that sacking in September 2016.

Or he could come to the Albion, Josh, and get sacked inside six months, such is our managerial track record Tongue

Owner Guochuan Lai owes #wba £4.1m because of a loan he inherited from Jeremy Peace in the takeover https://t.co/PtUaYvH2qD

Big stink on Twitter, we had to go into a over draft yet lie took a loan out fur 4 million against the club that the club can call in at any time
Why the loan ? Why have we not called this in and pay Gayle's wages again, why the overdraft last year
Being called out by shareholders as a fraud
Good god what is happening to our club ??

Hamburger SV have sacked their Sporting Director Ralf Becker and replaced him with Jonas Boldt from Bayer Leverkusen.

I wonder what this means for Bruno Labbadia and Hamburg’s interest in him. He’s meeting with them when he returns from China but could Boldt have his own ideas for Hannes Wolf’s replacement setting the stage for us to swoop in for Bruno?
