RE: Watford v Hudds Town - theo_luddite - 16-01-2021 78 mins for our first tame shot on target. Think if I'd gone down there (normal circumstances) I'd be in either the Spoons or the pub by the station by now, or at least heading in that direction. RE: Watford v Hudds Town - Lord Snooty - 16-01-2021 A hard game for the lads and a disappointing result. Don't know what young Ryan was doing with that back pass. He looked frozen on his line. What a stupid goal to give away and it's undone all the hard work. Without that, who knows how the game would've ended. Keep frustrating them into mistakes, but of course, we gave them the confidence to go on. Unfortunatley, young Pat Jones, who'd only been on a minute, got beat by their full back and he got a quality cross in. Apart from losing and the fact that we only had one shot on target, I think we did alright considering all that's gone on. Wardy looked good for the last quarter of an hour when he came on. Probably his best cameo appearance of the season. Same with Scott High. Looked good. Two central defenders and Vallejo looked secure enough. We missed Hoggy. Carlos just said Hogg is out for three weeks. RE: Watford v Hudds Town - WakeyTerrier - 16-01-2021 It’s not like the result was unexpected but the manner of the first goal was very disappointing, what was he doing? I can only imagine he was away with the fairies. Deeney should’ve walked for that challenge in the first half but nothing we can do to change that. Bacunas’s arse fell out of the game after that. We’re 2 goals down and and his first sub is to bring Pat Jones on, not Danny Ward tells me Ward is nowhere near fit and probably shouldn’t be too n the bench. CC has worked miracles but it’s plain for all to see that this squad needs some championship ready players to be bought into the squad and not projects that will work with the B-team for the foreseeable future.... spend some f*cking money!! RE: Watford v Hudds Town - Lord Snooty - 16-01-2021 He's the 99th richest sports club owner in the world (according to a report in the Unexamined recently). There's no excuse for not spending some dosh on some quality, Championship ready players. RE: Watford v Hudds Town - Lord Snooty - 16-01-2021 RE: Watford v Hudds Town - Lord Snooty - 17-01-2021 Having now listened to Carlos, I take a slight bit of the blame for that first goal off Schofield and back on to Vallejo. He told them at halftime to stop passing back to the keeper because of the way Watford were pressing him. So what do we do? The lad was still asleep, but obviously not expecting the pass. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() There's also talk that Cleverley's studs up challenge on Schofield for the ball should've been a foul and was actually worse than the foul that Campbell got booked for. Personally, I don't think so and I don't think VAR would've over turned it. He got to the ball fractionally before young Ryan, who then seemed to make a bit of an injury out of it due to embarrassment. ![]() RE: Watford v Hudds Town - Lord Snooty - 17-01-2021 Quiz answers:

Thanks to everybody for taking part. This week's winner is jjamez. RE: Watford v Hudds Town - Lord Snooty - 24-03-2021 Quote:Club Connections: Now I know many of you aren't interested, but I love reading about our old players and I've just found a bit more about Fred Fayers. He was born a Quaker and as such he was unable to kill another human being and so he became a conscientious objector. Every "conchie" had to go to a tribunal to prove they weren't cowards. Fred faced his tribunal in April 1916 in Stockport, where he was guest playing at the time, but still officially a Town player. He was granted exemption due to his religious beliefs and was set to work on farms in Cheshire, producing food for the war effort. RE: Watford v Hudds Town - jjamez - 25-03-2021 Did he like his oats? Sorry maybe a bit below the belt. In regards to conchies, I have arguably a very different view on it to everyone else, which some may not truly like. I respect him for standing up for his beliefs. I see a film called hacksaw ridge being of interest to you Snooty, if you haven't seen it before. Not football related or anything like that. If you haven't seen it before, read up on it before watching, it has a bit of bloodshed RE: Watford v Hudds Town - WakeyTerrier - 25-03-2021 Great film |
