RE: Town v Norwich match thread - Lord Snooty - 12-09-2020 The one name I missed off the player's profiles was Irish forward Adam Idah. I shall put this right now. He's 19 years old and was born in Cork. Came to Norwich in 2017 as a scholar and eventually made it into the first team squad last season, making his debut against Crawley Town in the League Cup. He made his Premier League debut as a sub on New Years Day against Crystal Palace just a few days before playing against Preston in the FA Cup. Norwich won 4-2 and Idah scored a hat trick. Those were his last goals for the Canaries, until today when he came on as a 75th minute sub. Five minutes after coming on, he was on the score sheet. Earlier this month though, he had made his international debut, playing for Ireland in the Nations League matches against Bulgaria and Finland. RE: Town v Norwich match thread - Lord Snooty - 13-09-2020 What Oggy forgot to ask there; we were raving about the kids in the friendlies, so why are they all out now apart from Ben Jackson? Why was Crichlow not playing? Where's Austerfield? Where's Daly? If we're short of strikers, why are we not pushing Harratt through? Norwich's goal came from a 19 year old. We were told that the youths would be brought through, instead we got an individual mistake from the most experienced bloke in the squad. Passes microphone to Carlos......... RE: Town v Norwich match thread - Lord Snooty - 13-09-2020 All that stuff I put in my match thread and now I've just realised another glaring omission. Listening to Oggy's post match interviews reminded me that Harry Toffolo started out in Canary yellow. ![]() He went there in 2008 as an u14 player and later joined the Academy. He played in the team that won the FA Youth Cup against Chelsea, after which he signed his first professional contract. He played a couple of League Cup games, played for the u21s in the EFL Trophy and went out on a few loans. Firstly he went to Swindon Town on loan, where they were so impressed, the fans paid for him to have his loan extended. He helped them make it to the Play Offs and having missed the semis through injury, he did play in the Final of the 2015 Play Offs against Preston, which they lost 0-4. After that he had loans with Rotherham in the Championship, then Peterborough, Scunthorpe and Doncaster in League One before finally leaving Carrow Road for good when he signed for Millwall in Jan 2018. It never worked out for him at the Den and he was released at the end of the season, which led to Danny Cowley signing him for Lincoln. He never missed a league game in his short spell there, playing 72 times consecutively before Cowley brought him to his new club, Huddersfield Town, where he has become one of the most consistent performers in the team. ![]() RE: Town v Norwich match thread - WakeyTerrier - 13-09-2020 Well it wasn’t the same old Town but the way we conceded definitely was. 12 months on and still gifting goals to the opposition. I thought Koroma was our man of the match, worked hard up top with very little in the way of support, played a lovely ball through that Pritchard should have done better with but Pritchard being Pritchard he fluffed it. Still need signings to help this team out, hopefully at least another 2 through the door this week RE: Town v Norwich match thread - Lord Snooty - 13-09-2020 The goal was reminiscent of Pawel Abbot down at Cheltenham. We were on the attack but yet again lack of movement up top or in midfield led us to passing back and back and even further and disastrously back. ![]() As for the two penalties that Farke is claiming. First one yes. Ball hits Bacuna on the arm. Not a penalty a couple of years ago but is now. The other one no. He plays the ball then just clatters into Schindler. Ball's long gone. RE: Town v Norwich match thread - Lord Snooty - 13-09-2020 Quote:After the 1-0 defeat to Norwich City, Huddersfield Town Loan Manager and former Norwich City midfielder David Fox joins Town defender Tommy Elphick and HTTV presenter Adam Tomlinson to look back at the Championship opener. What the chuffing hell is a loan manager? Does he work in a bank? ![]() RE: Town v Norwich match thread - WakeyTerrier - 15-09-2020 I bought the matchday programme last week for this fixture and when it eventually arrived on Monday I've had a good scan through it. What i did note it thjat not only do we not have a shirt sponsor(we all know that) but it would seem only about 6/7 of the players actually have a sponsor. The money really has dried up RE: Town v Norwich match thread - Lord Snooty - 15-09-2020 Aye well, who in their right mind is gonna throw money at football in this current situation? It's very worrying on many different levels. ![]() RE: Town v Norwich match thread - WakeyTerrier - 15-09-2020 If Jarvis had been here now i can bet you we'd have had all sorts of advertising banners in the main stand to maximise exposure on ifollow. RE: Town v Norwich match thread - Lord Snooty - 15-09-2020 You're right there. He's gonna be a big miss. |
