Don't forget my Talisker.

I like a lot of real ale's and European lagers.

Sharp's Doombar, Adnams Ghost Ship. Ringwood brewery make some good beers as do Brewdog. Robinson's Ginger Tom is a good real Ginger beer.

The European lagers like Peroni, Birra Moretti, Heineken, Stella, Bitburger are pretty good but not keen on Carling. Annoys me when you go into a pub and they've got all those really good beers and ales on tap and you get someone saying 'Just a pint of Carling'.

I know what you mean, but I generally live and let live on stuff like that. I think most of us have got a streak of "stick with what you know and like" in us somewhere (whenever I've eaten different cuisines like Thai or Japanese, for instance, I've always looked for some kind of curry on the menu, because I'm not adventurous enough to dive into all the other stuff) and though it baffles me that people show such loyalty to absolute piss like Carling, if it makes 'em happy, that's all that counts.

That said, a pub I used to work at years ago didn't sell Carling or Carlsberg at all, and sometimes blokes would turn round and walk straight out the door once you told them. I understand not trying new stuff when you've got an old favourite on hand, but to refuse trying something new when there's no other option is a bizarre level of parochialism. I've never understood that.
