RE: Update - spireitematt - 06-05-2018 If Barnet let Martin Allen go then we should sign him. RE: Update - bluepooch - 06-05-2018 Some managers seem to succeed at one club only though ,e.g Keith Hill (Rochdale- failed at Barnsley), John Coleman(Accy- failed at Rochdale ) ,Martin Allen (Barnet-failed at numerous clubs) . RE: Update - Devongone - 07-05-2018 There is a reason Martin Allen is known as mad dog. (AND HE FAILED AT BARNET DIDN'T HE?) There is a reason Sheridan moves on every few months. (He saved Fleetwood and they chose JOEY EFFIN BARTON instead!) I still say pray Tranmere beat Boreham Wood in the play-offs, see if we can get Luke Garrard and keep our fingers crossed he brings a couple of players with him. (As expected Sutton have avoided promotion. I did however think Fylde would bring forward their promotion plan by two or three years if they could ........ but winning away at Boreham Wood was really a tough task with their current team.) Sheridan, Davies, Law seems like playing scissors, paper, stone. Why would Law come anyway, isn't he playing Sean Dyche's stunt double at Burnley? As any transfer fee we receive leaks out of the club quicker than you can say Dave Allen perhaps we would be well-advised to do swaps. As usual Peterborough have gone for an early mass-transfer-listing. It was noticeable that in their final game they did not field Jack Marriott, clearly for fear they'd injure the goose who will soon providing them with a golden egg. They WILL need a goalscorer. So Kristian Dennis this is your big chance ........... suggest we swap him for Ricky Miller, former Vanarama multiple top scorer when at Dover, and Alex Penney, promising centre back who was signed from Nuneaton ....... and if we can stretch it Jermaine Anderson a 6' 2" 21 year-old midfielder with age-group caps. Three players the Posh they don't want for one who might get them the goals they need and leave their Marriott millions intact for other business. RE: Update - bluepooch - 07-05-2018 Dev,you need to be emailing these names to AC or whoever is going to be in charge of recruitment .I dont think AC or DA read this message board . RE: Update - Devongone - 07-05-2018 I think Jermaine Anderson may be stretching it too far as he played 70-odd games at The Posh, but certainly Ricky Miller has been a flop since he left Dover, but would I'm sure rip up the Vanarama again, and his value has to be much less than Dennis. Alex Penney was the young defender of choice from non-league when Peterborough stepped in, but they clearly don't rate him much now. He's only 21 now I think. I don't think DA and AC will be into swaps because they don't suit their pocket. Ricky Miller came on loan to Mansfield ..... and they didn't like him either, but google him if you are interested. He isn't young! As it seems certain we'll lose Dennis then we are going to need some goals unless we are genuinely aiming for a relegation hat trick. It just occurred to me that a swap was the only way to prevent the transfer money simply disappearing. RE: Update - spireitematt - 08-05-2018 Salford City managers have left. RE: Update - bluepooch - 08-05-2018 3/1 with Skybet but Shez remains strong at 1/2 .The market is very weak and volatile though and doesn't take much to push the prices in significantly.Having said that ,at this stage it should reflect what is happening so I would imagine the likes of Shez, Martin Allen ,Ronnie Moore and Kevin Davies have all been interviewed or at least have expressed an interest .Same with the Salford pair I cant believe there is nothing in it when they are as low as 3/1. RE: Update - bluepooch - 08-05-2018 Somebody on Twitter says Shez was offered a 3 year contract at the weekend but turned it down .This would account for his short price .However the fact that he is still odds on suggests its not over . If it was me i'd move on to other targets . RE: Update - Devongone - 09-05-2018 Look what happened when we gave Sheridan a four year contract and forgot to give contracts to Craig Davies and Deane Smalley. Noticed Smalley has been in the news again getting promotion (with his bro') for Ashton United. Although I'm all for stability three-year contracts have to be a liability in a world where managers do well to last a calendar year. RE: Update - bluepooch - 09-05-2018 Allen shortening all the time ,he's now favourite with Skybet . |
