Thursday's Premier League Darts in Exeter has been cancelled with a red severe weather warning in place for snow in Devon.

Apparently the UK Darts Open could be cancelled which is meant to start tomorrow in Minehead.

Snoots was straight on to the TV guide and pressing record when I told him that, maclad.

Thanks for the heads up themaclad, should be interesting. I don't know if my memory is a bit clouded but I don't remember buses and trains not running. Have seen clips of steam engines stuck in snow drifts but they weren't there long. They fitted snow ploughs on the front to clear the snow off the lines. Now there's a real 20th century idea to help keep the trains going.

Exeter game is off. The whole World must laugh at us when we get snow.

To be fair I don't think anyone laughs at the UK for this sort of storm. Half an inch and London shuts down and goes into panic mode is what gets laughed at!! I lived in Chicago for 12 years, winters there are brutal and you can get 8" of snow overnight and the roads are clear in the morning!!! They are ready for it, they have the equipment to deal with it and they allocate the funds to make sure it get done, but they have to do that as snow is a given there, its not in the UK on this scale. The other advantage Chicago has is it is completely flat, no hills at all but where there are some slight hills, when it snows the cars get stuck just like you see in the UK. They just clear it quicker off the roads but rush hour snow causes chaos wherever you might live.
