A new manager never pleases everybody all of the time, what it is, is a fresh start for him, the players and us.
So unless we play the same dross that we've suffered for the last 9 months AP will get my full support, even the last 2 games have been an improvement on what we would have got 10 days ago. Could have nicked it at Wembley and should have won last night but 2 points and more importantly stopping the habit of losing that we'd just got used to.
I for one am full of optimism, starting with Saturday, loved the bit about his teams starting on the front foot, and if we lose the unwanted tag of being the most boring team in the league that will have to be progress, and results will ultimately come.
We've all said this is the best set of players we've had here for a long time, now lets see what they can do when they play their natural game, working hard is fine but lets give the opposition something to think about for a change.

Exactly my point. 100 years ago, in 1917, we had 22 players running around the
pitch playing FOOTBALL. Their attitude was not win at all cost but to use their own
physical and mental attributes in a fair competition to see how they measured
against a likeminded team. Their individual skills were prized but teamwork and
good sportsmanship even more so. They would have considered a “manager” a
necessary (?) hanger-on who dealt with league letters and white wash for marking
the pitch. This “manager” has, over the years, introduced a philosophy of using
underhand methods to win…deliberate time wasting by kicking the ball away; encouragement of leg-breaking tackles; marking talented opponents out of the
game; surrounding refs to get favourable decisions; tactical use of substitutes; pulling
players shirts; diving in the box…the negative impact of “managers” is endless.
To cap it all, they take the natural talent of potentially great players and obliterate
it by coaching it all out of them making the game we watch a mechanical set-piece
with all flair extinguished.
I reiterate; Who the “manager” is…is totally irrelevant; they are all bad for the game.

Anything will be an improvement on Pulis and I'm quite happy for AP to give it a go and the best of luck to him and the players.

I agree. He comes across very well and gives hope for the future with his comments.
If he can bring a more attractive and effective style of play which gets results and can go some way to repairing the clubs dwindling reputation then he should get most fans on board.

For me I'm not concerned if he talks pretty or whether I like the bloke - we had that with Pulis and even Hodgson, what I want is a manager that grabs the players by the neck shake them about and get them to play attractive winning games football, so even if Pardew can do that for a season before other teams suss us out I'm happy.
Though as a thought, all the other managers will need to tear up there lists on how to beat us under Pulis, and come up with new ideas to beat another P that hopefully has more ideas. We'll see

I think he's more suited to Alain Pardieu, a suave, sophisticated Frenchman (much like me, but French), playing le sexy football while keeping his eye out for any lovely ladies (allegedly).
