There won't even be any fun at Christmas ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Ipswich Town v The Owls SBC Match Thread - St Charles Owl - 22-11-2017 (21-11-2017, 22:45)Maddix Wrote: Serves us right really. We got promoted and never gave the likes of Clarke a chance. It was decided that he wasn't good enough before we'd even played to his strengths or even played him at another level. It's a common theme with us. Somebody within S6 decides (usually incorrectly) that player X is no good or can't step up and that's it, they're gone. It's happened so many times over the years it's unreal A little wide of the mark with that, although Clarke was a donkey at times for us!!! He left us the season we got relegated to League One, and left as his contract had expired and he moved to QPR. We paid good money for him at a time when we had none and he played over 80 times for us scoring 18 times and we essentially replaced him with Madine, who was by far a better player for us in the early years of him being with us. So I think its more of a case of him not being prepared to step down a league rather than us casting him aside. Can't argue with Cantona though!!! RE: Ipswich Town v The Owls SBC Match Thread - Owlkev71 - 22-11-2017 Some match facts: Ipswich have only lost two of their last 16 league games against the Owls (W7 D7), but both of those defeats were at Portman Road (October 2012 and April 2017). Sheffield Wednesday have scored exactly one goal in each of their last nine league games against Ipswich (W1 D4 L4). Sheffield Wednesday have lost nine of their last 12 away league matches played on a Wednesday (W1 D2), including one against Birmingham this season. The Tractor Boys have gained more points from losing positions than any other side in the division (10). Sheffield Wednesday are the only Championship side that are yet to concede a headed goal this season. RE: Ipswich Town v The Owls SBC Match Thread - Southeyowl - 22-11-2017 Only just realised that the game is on SKY tonight! My dilemma is, do I watch it, which will probably mean we will lose, or do I watch "Peaky Blinders" and just keep tabs on the score!
