RE: Dylan Hand - Devongone - 16-10-2017

If you are referring to Ricky, Matt I think you are right. I think there's something seriously wrong. I loved clips of him in the Juniors, because he led the attack. He made himself such a target for midfield I really forgot to look at the guys, like probably Joe Rowley, who were producing the nice passes ......... He seemed quite humble and said he'd been a slow learner ....... But now we've praised and discarded him with equal carelessness and I fear he has at least gone backwards, if not lost his appetite completely. That's why I've been so desperate to get him on the field and get him going ....... again.

Gozie? Well what's happened? He must have thought he was coming to be a Chris O'Grady for us ..... and then we sign Chris O'Grady and he's a secondary figure at best. And Maguire, too ill to play, what's going on, get off and spend some time with Harry, find yourself and find out you should be captain .......?

Professionals certainly look for different things from us amateurs, maybe it is just that with Jack's selections. It wouldn't be surprising if men with twenty years training within the same game, thought in the same ways and reached similar conclusions. Certainly I expected Jack to go with O'Grady up front to begin with ...... and you might well think Robbie Weir a more reliable prop in the middle of the park than young Dimaio. But eventually it has to occur that those ways of thinking aren't working and NEVER will. Lincoln came up with a managerial combination from an entirely different background who did everything their own way. My hope with Jack is that he was never a YES man for us, he got in trouble, he played his own game and was clearly his own man ........... and I want him to be that man again.

In the end it isn't any good envisaging a Barcelona style football when you have a midfield clearly not capable of keeping the ball that also pressurises its own defence by its inability to tackle. Matt's right that to play like that you have to be capable of winning the ball back, successful Spanish sides don't cruise to success, they work and work to get the ball and then make the opposition run and run and run before they ever see it again. Does that look a viable option at the foot of Division 2? With these players?

No I think there's something going on which the fans don't know about. A clique? Has there been a falling out between players?

Dev I see Rickys gone to Sheffield FC for a month which is strange really as we have only just recalled him from Alfreton.

RE: Dylan Hand - Devongone - 17-10-2017

As Ricky is going down the equivalent of two divisions having received a Man of the Match rating for Alfreton it shows how thoughtful the club's player development really is.

We deserve to be where we are and we deserved to draw Bradford away.

WTF is going on. This is just crazy. Is our manager really Jack Lester or has somebody stolen his identity?

RE: Dylan Hand - Devongone - 19-10-2017

I just doubt the club is prepared to explore a better option.

As Southport's new manager is called Kevin Davies I think that might be a useful loan for a young centre forward.

Good to see Davies starting his trade in the lower leagues. There is a certain former player in football who wants to be a manager but refuses to manage in the lower leagues because he thinks because he managed 7 games at a top PL he should work into a top job.

Coo I wonder if he played centre forward too?
