RE: WBA vs Watford - Match Thread - BaggieMan - 30-09-2017 Just back from the game and missed their equaliser. My take on it was first half we were quite impressive apart from Brunt who was total crap and Dawson who had a nightmare and we could and should easily have been 2-3 down at the break. Dawson must have booked a fun in the sun break as he was nowhere to be seen. Second half we were dreadful - couldn't pass a ball, just ball-watched every second ball, aimless clearances hoofing the ball up the pitch and Watford ran rings around us and although I hate to say it, they well deserved their point and if we were honest, they deserved to win the game. Gibbs impressed as did the Pole in the Hole but that was about it. Very disappointing day apart from Berawhingo missing a penalty. I should add that Foster was the reason we didn't win. He was warned in the first half and again second half for time-wasting and the extra minute that was added is down to Foster. Can't these players get it in their heads that if as a player, you timewaste, time is added on. RE: WBA vs Watford - Match Thread - Worldclassalbion - 30-09-2017 Tony Pulis is a complete Moron, I say it every week and I'm fed up of saying it. He blamed the Ref. We go 2 - 0 up and then capitulate because he can't shut his fat gob up on the side lines. We go defensive and the inevitable Happens. Foster is warned in the first half for time wasting!! and continues to do so until the last death. 4 minutes MINIMUM is what it means PULIS so don't blame the ref because you did your usual defend defend defend once we are winning!!!! We break forward with 2 players, one 30 yards behind the other. I remember going up my beloved Albion to watch US play football BUT THE ONLY TEAM THAT PLAYS FOOTBALL UP THE ALBION NOW ARE OUR OPPONENTS. After the Arsenal and Man City games I thought my God he's finally got it but back to The Pulis way today........................AT HOME! We were lucky to draw, PULIS JUST GO YOU NEGATIVE CLUELESS TWAT. WE DID NOT PLAY WELL AND IT WASN'T THE REFS FAULT. RE: WBA vs Watford - Match Thread - Beefy 1965 - 30-09-2017 Grzeg Krychowiak was great again today I wonder what he thinks playing like this , He looked really angry at full time, Winner in my Book, enjoy him why it lasts ![]() RE: WBA vs Watford - Match Thread - Worldclassalbion - 30-09-2017 (30-09-2017, 20:58)Beefy 1965 Wrote: Grzeg Krychowiak was great again today Agreed Beefy, this man is a class act, reminds me of a certain Bryan Robson BUT he will soon get fed up of playing under Pulis. RE: WBA vs Watford - Match Thread - valpayne - 30-09-2017 I went to the studio today I really believed my superstition would work sadly had only booked it 1-4pm due to commitments from my guitarist had to be elsewhere I looked at the score at 4.30 on way to the pub i saw 2-1 I quickly checked again 4.50 still 2-1 but by the time i looked again as I arrived at the pub 4.55 the inevitable had happened 2-2 I look at my violinist and the poor girl is looking at the score on her phone and saying its another shite night isn;t it. Yes was my grumpy reply and I would have put money on it happening in fact I absolutely fully expected it I'm absolutely f***** sick of it. Ironically whilst i was in the studio we were winning by the time i left we'd effed it up as per usual I really don't know of any other team but albion that A can't see games out B are never guaranteed to win unless we go 4-0 up and C never come back once we go 1 down and D consistently give me the F**** HUMP! I hate being an albion supporter I hate myself for caring about this shite game we call football because it really isn't the beautiful game and equally we cannot win ugly anymore either. Thanks for ruining another saturday night WBA RIP I give up. Cancelling sky cancelling interest over and out RE: WBA vs Watford - Match Thread - BaggieMan - 30-09-2017 Hey Val Do I take it you're not a happy bunny? I've been like that since the day Pulis was appointed HC. Over time, I've come to realise that something's in life are more important than footy such as family and friends. I lost my mom last year to “c” so life is very important, however while playing with my two children I still swore expletives in the 95th minute. TP has the best team for ages yet cannot play good attaching football. Plus it cost me £85 on my five fold. RE: WBA vs Watford - Match Thread - Slick_Footwork - 30-09-2017 The biggest worry for me is that despite spending a fair whack of money during the summer, we don't look a better side than last season. It's almost like we just signed individuals rather than players who we could fit into the system. The one thing we were always good at was defending balls into the box. Today we had to defend for our lives on one final ball, and one of their best 2 in air (Richarlison and Deeney won everything in the air all game) was left completely unmarked. As far as game management goes, how we can get into a situation where they are catching us on the break in the 93rd minute is beyond me. Not sure what Barry was doing getting caught in possession when a simple pass was staring him in the face. That said, I'm not sure why we signed a 36 year old when it was clear last season we needed younger legs. Grzegorz Krychowiak and Kieran Gibbs were our best 2 players on the day and look like good acquisitions. However, the other signings aren't quite living up to their billing. Hegazi looks like a good squad player for the money, but is no Gareth McAuley. Barry and Rodriguez had good debuts but don't really seem to have found their roles in the team. Rodriguez is probably frustrated at our style of play, but shooting every time you get the ball when you could lay players in isn't the answer. I think what is really disappointing when the 2nd half is damage limitation but we fail to see it through. Makes you think we might as well of kept having a go. As for Watford though, I think they might surprise a few this year. While we were poor, I think we also have to hold our hands up and say they've got a very decent side now. RE: WBA vs Watford - Match Thread - valpayne - 30-09-2017 you're absolutely right baggieman I'm a very sad camper tonight I was actually transported back to my childhood after I saw the 2-2 and remember how i used to hide under the table in tears as an 8 year old listening to radio WM commentary and the air horn would go de der da da de der da da and it was always a goal against thats all i remember and my father and brother who are villa fans would tease me ![]() (30-09-2017, 22:42)Baggie_One Wrote:(30-09-2017, 22:27)BaggieMan Wrote: Hey Val On a personal note Baggie One my condolences for the loss of your mum. I have some idea how that must feel as both my parents have had cancer albeit thankfully though they are still with us as it was caught in time and cured for now. love and peace Val RE: WBA vs Watford - Match Thread - Kennyg - 01-10-2017 After a night of reflection a few points about yesterday's game:- The first half was ok. Rondon took his goal superbly - what a through ball from the Pole in the hole! Watford continually threatened down our right. As I said on the Arsenal match thread, I feel Dawson needs a break. He was poor yesterday. I'm sure Nyom would have been up for it - just like he was last season against his former club. Ben's time wasting is getting ridiculous now. STOP IT BEN! Second half we dropped too deep and it was inevitable they would score. One the one occasion we did break away and attack, McClean could have scored. I actually thought McClean got the ball when Mr Oliver gave that foul from which they equalised, although I haven't seen replays yet. I just hope we can integrate Chadli and Burke into the team to offer more of a threat to the opposition. I am getting fed up of the lack of attacking intent. However if Pulis does go I am not sure who ever came in would do a better job. Just look at Palace, Leicester, etc. |
