I think the rules for sacking someone are different when you have a physical contract that covers a period of time.

Who could we get to replace him?

Ronnie Moore?
Justin Edinburgh?
Ritchie Humphreys?
Kevin Davies/Jack Lester?
Leam Richardson? Maybe he could bring a bit of that magic we had under Cook
The 2 managers at Salford?
Warren Joyce?

Or we could have a raffle each week. Each fan buys a ticket for a £1 and if they win they can be the manager for that game could pay off the debt.

The last option sounds best to me

RE: Caldwell Out - Dancingwilldoit - 12-09-2017

Somehow the idea of CFC holding a raffle just doesn't bear thinking about.

Nearly got it Matt! We need more than Chesterfield fans to enter though. Open it worldwide.

Pledge £5 by puter or app and select your fantasy Chesterfield team from players available. The winner's team goes out and plays, winner presented to crowd as guest for the match, travel to the game paid (within this country only), meet the players, meal before or after .........

Imagine the fun when a Mansfield fan wins with a deliberately badly-selected team and it goes out and does better than a GC job.

We'll still end up in the Vanarama, but we can buy DA out and get ourselves a proper set of players.

"We're a professional club, we don't make mistakes". Who said it? Answers on a postcard.

For his last chance he's a stubborn so and so. 3-5-2 again

RE: Caldwell Out - spireitematt - 12-09-2017

HT 1-0. Louis Reed apparently with a screamer. Will it be a perfect day?

RE: Caldwell Out - bluepooch - 12-09-2017

Worst result that could have been .It means we are in limbo as far as GC is concerned .A convincing win or a defeat would have meant we could move on with some optimism as it would have meant a change or a jump up the table but its likely to be neither now .
Oh well on to Saturday and yet again we dont want a draw

RE: Caldwell Out - spireitematt - 12-09-2017

Sounds like it was a well fought point. It might kick start our season who knows but one thing for certain is Accrington on Saturday is a must win game now.
