RE: Town v Villa match thread - WakeyTerrier - 08-03-2017

I'll start off by saying well done to the Villa fans they were in fine voice last night and probably the loudest away support we've had at Town this season.
Onto the game now, Villa had a game plan to disrupt our free flowing game and after 5/10minutes of the game it worked a treat. A few niggly fouls here and there but nothing too serious and they managed to get a foothold into the game and draw us into a battle, Town lost composure in that first half which resulted in Löwe being booked for what was surely back chatting to the ref? Half time 0-0 but I'm not sure how because in my book Villa could have lead comfortably at that stage having missed what I'd consider sitters and smashed one against the woodwork. It was obvious we needed half time and Wagner to settle our lot down.
Second half much better from Town but still a very niggly game in which Town took the lead from a set piece corner routine...we're shit at corners by the way! Having seen the replay back I'd be disappointed if my keeper just stood there at the near post and did nothing, but fair play to Tommy 'get it forward' Smith because he hit it well and you never know where the ball will end up when you drill it into the box.
After the goal it was like the Alamo, Fat head decided the best route was the Warnock way of launching it upfield at every opportunity but Town managed to hold them out thanks to some great heading from Hefele and Schindler...the latter was my man of the match by the way

The last two opponents have deliberately targeted Izzy Brown for punishment. He's had no protection from the referees. It's disgusting.

Highlights made it look all villa

Referee was an utter joke. How many more abysmal referees are we going to have before it gets better? Never seen more of a diving team than Villa. Lansbury was the worst culprit and the ref should have gotten a grip further. Quaner got fouled all game and Izzy got kicked (once again) from pillar to post. Real shame that Kasey isn't fit just to give his shins a rest. The lack of protection from refs for Izzy and Kach as well by the way is disgusting, fully agree with Snoots. Apart from one costly mistake, Jonny Hogg was a cut above. Different level. The championship Kante. Mooy looked very tired. I'd play big Phil with Hoggy against Brentford and give him a rest. He looks knackered. Defence was outstanding. Lowe and Smith best full-back pairing in the league for me. Hef outstanding and Schindler handled Kodja as well as he could as he looked every bit the £14m striker he is.

*almost costly mistake I should add, referring to when he tried to dance out of defence and Hourihane almost scored, who was invisible rest of the game.

46x3 officials = 138 reasonable officials, maybe.
46x4 officials =  184 inept officials.
92 clubs so 46 fixtures per typical fixture day give or take.

In a country of ooh, 50 million or so not counting the Jocks, they have their own levels of ineptitude in their leagues, you'd think we could train 200 willing volunteers to be reasonably good at their job. Apparently not.

I know I'm going to pee a few north of the border off on our board with that one. Blunt Yorkshireman, tell it as I see it but think they will get the general idea.

What it comes down to is this. You take 10 of the best officials that could be reffing Championship games just to hold a frigging board up half a dozen times a game in the Prima Donna league. It knocks on all the way down the divisions. Net result, no refs for many Saturday and Sunday League local matches which means the poor few that take it up get slagged of to hell and give up before they get near County League let alone Football League. Self defeating really.

Give it Klinsman ffs http://www.starsandstripesfc.com/usmnt-americans-abroad/2017/3/8/14847886/jurgen-klinsmann-david-wagner-bayer-leverkusen-manager-shortlist

'kin pain in the arse this is.

Villa fans were loud, bit too arrogant for my liking and happily went quiet when we scored as did their team to give us not too nervy an ending. The responses from the lower tier was excellent, full of shit m'Lord & sneaking out m'Lord in response to their empty seats and shit support taunts, short memories cos despite abondoning my wife and daughter in Spain to fly back that afternoon in August, I do remember the 8000 top tier seats closed at Villa Pk. My Villa mate rang to congratulate me today, the WM phone in was all about we should be beating teams like Huddlesfield - not another team surely ???

We werent really at it first 45, but 2nd we got back to what we expect these days, a superb worked corner and Smith fires home from a tough angle. Coleman with his bendy boots on, whats going on with his kicks. Colin I cant jump Quaner, great touch but no way is he the upper end Championship bruiser we need to rotate with Wells who looked bright when he came on, what a shot he tried, would have been goal of the season 2" lower.

We were lucky with their shot against the woodwork, they had pace, defended well and look a team on an upward curve which might damage a few of the top 10 in the next few games to leave the 3-6 slots pretty much sorted.

Onto Brentford another strong team with pace on their day and an eye for goal, looking forward to it, especially having bought my Virgin tickets back in December and gambling the cup run wouldnt last forever.

Heard David Cameron on the radio today and thought bugger. I forgot to abuse him on the Villa thread. So here goes.......

Prince William, Private Pike, Joe Lolley, Nigel Kennedy, David Cameron. Are you listening David Cameron?
Your boys took one helluva beating.  Whistle  Rolleyes  Tongue  Big Grin  Laugh

I thought he supported West Aston United? Or is it Vanilla Ham or maybe just Burnley? No, he wouldn't know where Burnley is let alone Birmingham. Someone in Claret and Blue anyway. How many of his kids did he leave at the pub last weekend?
