I'm willing to contribute to the compensation!

I struggle to understand the greed of these millionaires.
If £3m pa is not enough to live on, why didn't he just go to Switzerland for some euthanasia?
Greedy greedy bastard.

I personally think it's awful how he's been set up!

Quite literally he would be going about his business today if someone offered him this,

he hasn't even done anything wrong, apart from say there are loopholes in the system, Call Prince Harry a Naughty boy and say the FA like to make money.

What was a dream job and proud moment or someone is now tarnished because of a fabricated situation that he went to.

Loadsa money in any business, incl footie = corruption from certain unscrupulous people. The temptation is too great! I think there is indeed a huge question mark re the governance of the game. Even the content of an interview for a potential England footie manager is worthy of scrutiny after a record 67 days of the Allardyce era. Football values are also questionable after this fiasco. Attached to these criticisms is the use of 3rd party payments which Arsenal's manager, Arsene Wenger, has consistently castigated for years and I agree with his view that this money should've been returned to the relative dealing footie club! However, that's only one issue of many that should be 'cleaned up' for the good of the game! Allardyce's words - '20 mins work, easy money' must reverberate with derision among hundreds of thousands of decent hard-working footie fans throughout the country.

And why should it be acceptable, as the most high-profile individual that the FA employs, to be telling people how to circumvent the rules and laws your own employer has in place?

This is the thing: it clearly wasn't about the money for him, it was about the ego. Getting to hold court. Getting to play Billy Big Balls. And while it may not be the most egregious example of this ever happening in football, part of the problem is that a blind eye has been turned to this kind of stuff for far too long.

There are people who give their own time freely to coach kids at grassroots level through genuine love of the game who are asking themselves this week why they even bother. And they're right to. If all that's to be found at the very top of the game is greed, ego and self-interest, then what's the point?

I'm pretty sure The Telegraph would not have gone to the trouble to 'set-up' someone unless they had a pretty good idea it was going to work. This is exactly what the press should be doing. He could have not accepted the meetings or walked out at any point. He is a disgrace.

Be interesting to see how many fall on their sword before all 8 are named. While I hope it does not happen, just for the clubs sake, with TP's insistence on using certain agents I hope he is not one of the 8.

If I was the editor I would hold the big names back to keep the story running.

Hasselbaink already denying any wrongdoing and it'll be no surprise to see the same response from the other two possible offenders - all part of the mindset that these kinda unscrupulous people possess!
