Part 2s key revelation ? mcleish admitting the EBTs gave rangers a sporting advantage.... and the show stating they cheated to get their trophies. So far so obvious. They clearly stated that Rangers went into Liquidation in June 2012. Correct again.

Then they used careful editing of the SPL and SFL votes to lead the viewer into thinking the votes were about the club which went into liquidation rather than what the vote was actually about...... which was where to put "The Rangers" formerly known as Sevco Scotland. Very naughty BBC,naughty naughty.

Anyway some great stuff on the whole Hearts-Kaunas link. Players seemed to swap between the two weekly....

gretna, mad vlad, hugh dallas getting a smack from some idiot at park head, the shameful assault on lennon at swine castle. Great viewing if you get the chance (link below). Scottish fitba is mental!

I've just watched this and look at Mcleish's face when he says we would've been behind Celtic if we never paid those wages it's a face of extreme uncomfort

RE: scotlands game - hibeejim21 - 02-09-2016

Spot on fred. He looked shifty as xxxx. He basically admitted the "cheat to compete" part then you could see him thinking "shit what have I got into here ?".

The boot was fairly getting put in last night. English tore apart david murray and cosgrove got laid into Gretna.

RE: scotlands game - Fredstersafool - 02-09-2016

Anyone who blames anyone other than Murray for the death of RFC is clearly no right in the done Murray KILLED Rangers.

Cracking programme though just a pity we have to watch the National side next week although at least we'll get memories of the good years I hope lol

RE: scotlands game - 0762 - 02-09-2016

Gretna was a great example of a financial 'experiment' on a small Scottish footie club where you can pile loadsa money into that club and look how far it can go in such a goldfish bowl that is named Scottish football - the team charged into the top league in a short space of time and was a smidgeon off winning the Scottish Cup as well. Then total financial collapse that was very similar to the other 'experiments' with Hearts and Glasgow Rangers - all 'living beyond their means' in the quest to attain some form of success that they could brag about and add to their 'footie history' albeit unscrupulously Rolleyes

RE: scotlands game - hibeejim21 - 02-09-2016

English and Thompson laid it out pretty clearly i thought. Murray was a shyster, who had to resort to cheating when the money tap got turned off by his pals at the bank. McCann had his number in every sense.

Aye we could have used another episode to cover what was in the first 2 before we hit the national team stuff.... good years LOL

RE: scotlands game - Fredstersafool - 02-09-2016

The good years were when we qualified for world cups ok they never went great when we got there but we did get there lol

RE: scotlands game - hibeejim21 - 02-09-2016

Barring a bit of bad luck v ussr we would have gone further in the tournament. We had a decent side under stein.

Scotlands a bit like hibs I think....our day is coming!

RE: scotlands game - 0762 - 02-09-2016

I attended that match in Malaga v USSR in 1982! IMO Stein's loyalty towards a full back called Danny McGrain proved to be his undoing in not qualifying for the latter stages of the'82 World Cup - that was the 'talk of the Tartan Army' in the pubs in Malaga, Torremolinos and Benalmadena at that time - a big mistake by Stein who refused to recognise that McGrain's career was over at international level and that was a decent Scotland side that he was managing!!

RE: scotlands game - Fredstersafool - 02-09-2016

That's pish if Miller and Hansen not ran into each other we'd have qualified Mcgrain can't be blamed for that
