RE: EU Referendum - Dancingwilldoit - 25-06-2016 I just hope you out voters realize just what you have done. There is so much uncertainty everywhere. Big companies were waiting for the result before spending on big capital projects. I was told on Friday that orders we were hoping for had all been put on indefinite hold. I employ 17 people, in a nutshell 3 of those jobs will have to now go in the next month unless something comes in out of the blue. We are small fry. Do you seriously think this wont be the same everywhere as the pound plummets and our credit rating drops through the floor. Please don't tell me it will be ok in 10 years - it was perfectly ok earlier last week. Still I suppose getting " Our sovereignty " back makes it all worthwhile ???? RE: EU Referendum - Lord Snooty - 25-06-2016 That's a really sad tale, Dancingwilldoit, and one which is no doubt being copied all over the country. RE: EU Referendum - bluepooch - 25-06-2016 Dancing i suppose its human nature to look at things for your own needs (a culture of greed and selfishness created by margaret thatcher of which we are all guilty.look after no 1 and all that )but we really must look at the bigger picture.I feel for you that you think it may affected your business but people need to stop knee jerk reacting and wait till things settle down . There are a lot worse off than me and you . This is my last comment on this subject the country has made a democratic decision and we now move on . im sticking to football . RE: EU Referendum - Fredstersafool - 25-06-2016 Our sovereignty should be abolished they are nothing but figure heads who cost a fortune for very little return RE: EU Referendum - Dancingwilldoit - 25-06-2016 Blue its not my needs - its every man on the street. Also its no knee jerk reaction. Simple facts. Less work for us to do = less employees. I don't hold the purse strings of our big multi nationals and we are at the bottom of the food chain. If they put projects on hold its because they are worried about their future. No point in them investing unless they are certain they can sell their products. I hope your right and things do settle down but it wont be anytime soon IMO. Just been on the radio that there are only a handful of people (half a dozen) in government who are experienced enough to deal with the complex issues of Brexit on behalf of the UK. I hope to god they know how to use a calculator The lunatics have finally taken over the asylum. RE: EU Referendum - hibeejim21 - 25-06-2016 You have my sympathy. After only one day check out whats happened. 3.5% wiped off equities 10% devaluation with promise of a rise in inflation as a result and probably a rise in interest rates. Independence referendum with a Scotland likely to leave the UK Constitutional problems in Northern Ireland. Possible loss of Gibraltar after some 250 years of UK rule London no longer the financial capital of the world leading to a massive loss of tax income for UK The country effectively has no government today and will not have any for 3 months. Bank and house builder shares hit badly which will led to a drop in house building programmes. Anyone who thinks that the UK is just going to pootle along as normal til we leave the EU and nothing will change is living in a fantasy world. As the boy above says 'the lunatics have taken over the asylum' RE: EU Referendum - bluepooch - 26-06-2016 We'll see, its early days to be predicting doom and gloom, come back on in 6 months and I might agree with you . Or will it be too late then...... RE: EU Referendum - Dancingwilldoit - 27-06-2016 Blue in 6 months Boris will still be backtracking, Farage will still be the racist liar he is now trying to bluff his way to the top and we will be so deep in the shit and mess they have caused, if there is a way out, its going to be bloody painful for us all. RE: EU Referendum - bluepooch - 27-06-2016 All i know is 17.5 million wanted things to change and we could never have got this through the grossly unfair 'first past the post' system in the general election .I will leave it to the powers that be to implement those changes.Im just glad the man who has contributed greatly to this mess by basically ignoring the ordinary man in the street has resigned .He should take his chancellor crony with him and jump into the Thames. RE: EU Referendum - Devongone - 27-06-2016 When the driver of a car tells you he's going to crash you can be pretty sure he's doing something to make that happen. Our usurers in the Stock Exchange told us the pound would go down if we left the EU because they themselves would sell it like there was no tomorrow. They yelp about not liking uncertainty, but if they were racehorses uncertainty would be their favourite going. Why do you think they stayed up all night on June 23rd - opportunity for profit! Uncertainty is what capitalism is all about. Certainty is a command economy, not a market economy. Whether we left or stayed these masters of the universe would be looking for ways to piss in the ear of ordinary people. But they can't piss forever. They've not had that much to drink and even we'll eventually get it and move our ear. The rich make the news. The poor swallow it down and suffer. In a capitalist economy change is a stimulus. In the end leaving is going to be good. The EU is a corpse. Even 48% of French people want out! The Spanish Government is almost a mirror image of our absent one. Merkel says one thing, her representatives say the exact opposite. Our biggest danger is that our leaving might crash the Euro and hasten the end of the bureaucratic corpse ship the other 27 members are clinging to under the impression it is a lifeboat. Please Scotland leave the UK, you deserve self determination, be independent. Don't for chrissakes strap yourselves to the bueurocrats of Brussels and wherever else it likes to set up its HQ. It can't even audit itself honestly; it's FIFA in disguise. Even with the tearful Cameron and miniature Eagle sobbing their socks off and trying to destroy their own parties and drag us down with them we'll still be better to go our own way. BE HAPPY! |
