Just back and Hibs should've made the 2nd leg a formality with a terrific 2nd half 30 min period - great stuff and it's abundantly clear Hibs are a far better team than this spirited Falkirk side! Hibs should be at least 4-2 up and as for this weak referee, Muir? What an erse with that stonewall pk hand baw in the second half! McGinn should have kicked through the Falkirk c###s arm - that would've taught him a harsh lesson! As for this weak ref, I watched the video recording of the end summary on bt sport and he is being 'ripped' by all panelists and commentator, and rightly so!!! Stubbs is spot on in his post match interview re the pen incidents - says he: 'You're talking to the wrong man! A referee should be asked to explain these huge decisions'! I just realised this ref was the same guy (AR located behind the goal) who somehow also missed the Meekings hand baw on the goal line in last season's infamous Scottish Cup semi-final, ICT v Celtic!! It's amazing that these ref incompetents can play a significant role in downing any footie club in crucial matches like this one! ![]() PS: I wish our strikers would start scoring goals again and do us all a favour!! It was the ref that fuqed up obviously!! Wasn't the goalie, nor the strikers who can't score for anything at the moment, it was all the refs fault!!! ![]() RE: Play-off semi-final 1st leg: Hibs v Falkirk, Tues 9 May 2016 - hibeejim21 - 11-05-2016 Disappointing result. 2nd half when we upped the tempo and got width we were all over Falkirk. Middle to front we have talented players but we just aren't clinical enough. Falkirk scored with their only 2 efforts on goal, one which was a howler from Logan. Least said about Muir the better. We still have a good chance on Friday. By the way after the game guys were saying only Sutton thought it was a pk from the BT crew. Is that the case? If so...mental. The rules have changed - it has to be intentional handball. I don't think it was intentional, but I'd be fuming if it had been against Rangers. However, I thought there was a good case for Hibs going to 10 men when Baird was so obviously fouled on the edge of the box in the first half - he'd have been through on goal. And I think it was just outside the box. So swings and roundabouts. RE: Play-off semi-final 1st leg: Hibs v Falkirk, Tues 9 May 2016 - HerefordBull - 11-05-2016 When you see them given in all leagues where the attacker has blasted the ball from point blank range and has hit the defenders arm without him knowing, you cannot get a more convincing case for a penalty than the one last night. Agree Worthing, the ref also bottled the decision against Stevenson in the first half.......red card / yellow card , inside box / outside box ??????......easier to wave play on! ![]() Think we are up against it now for the second leg on their cr*p pitch . Still, got to keep fighting and believing till the end....which in all possibility will be Friday. ![]() GGTTH RE: Play-off semi-final 1st leg: Hibs v Falkirk, Tues 9 May 2016 - hibeejim21 - 11-05-2016 "However, I thought there was a good case for Hibs going to 10 men when Baird was so obviously fouled on the edge of the box in the first half - he'd have been through on goal" Sorry but that would have been extremely harsh. It was a free kick outside the box at best as gray was covering it. No way the handball wasnae deliberate he rolls it clearly in the direction he wants it to go.... first off he stops the ball rolling away from him, then drags the ball in the opposite direction with his hand. muir had a perfectly good view. i actually thought the ref was doing ok up to that point and then he lost the plot entirely. RE: Play-off semi-final 1st leg: Hibs v Falkirk, Tues 9 May 2016 - 0762 - 11-05-2016 Sutton is a bit of a numpty when it comes to a lot of his self opinion on bt sport. Many Celtic fans can't stand this man either because of some of his defamatory comments re Celtic down the months. IMO Falkirk could not play such an intense, top quality game that we witnessed in the second half. Indeed Houston's 'tripping face', in his silly post match interview, said it all for me! He came over as bit of a pleb, which he is, and I wonder if he knows himself that they have no chance of beating Killie - his team is not good enough and that was proved again last night. On a separate note, what a great tribute response in the 14th min, from both sets of fans, for the deceased ex Falkirk and Livy player, Chris Mitchell. I recently listened to his tragic story on the radio and how he'd taken his own life - such a young lad, only 27 yoa, another victim of this killer mental illness. Very sad indeed and football issues, no matter how seriously we regard them, pale into insignificance when I hear these awful stories of hopelessness and torment. Also my sincere condolences to his devastated family. RIP |
