RE: Ins & Outs 2016 - Daffodils on the piano - 01-06-2016 Steve Evans: Leeds United Fires Manager After 1 Season WIth Club The coach led the team to a 13th place finish in the Champions league. Chairman Massimo Cellino said he completed his job, which was to avoid relegation and keep the team in the league. Here's an out we all thought wouldn't happen. L**ds, the club who just keeps on giving. RE: Ins & Outs 2016 - Statesideowl - 02-06-2016 Is everyone still on holiday or have most got the mardies on and started boycotting like Consilio? ![]() You can only be around like minded people after all. Those that don't think like you are lesser-human beings. ![]() Anyway, as expected the rumours are circulating around Westwood & Forestieri. They're both PL capable I think I'd be more gutted if we lost Westwood out of the two, the stability he brings at the back can't necessarily be purchased. CC shrugged it off, it seemed to me he was answering stupid questions with stupid answers. When asked about star players leaving he said it's how it is. We'd just buy better.. RE: Ins & Outs 2016 - St Charles Owl - 02-06-2016 I would imagine both would command high fees as both are under contract. I actually think it would be harder to replace Forestieri, Joe Wildsmith is not far off being ready whereas we have no one of FFs quality and it would cost a pretty penny to get someone in. Have we issued any sort of retained list yet? No retained list issued yet, Lopez (loan ends), Wallace, Melo, Hutch, Price, Lavery, Wildsmith and Dawson contracts expire end of June from what I can find. Pudil & Turners loans are to finish also. I think the rest are under contract though I might be wrong. RE: Ins & Outs 2016 - St Charles Owl - 02-06-2016 A number of changes in the managerial merry go round in the Championship!! Villa appoint Di Matteo as manager as expected. Interesting one this and one that could go either way in my view. He did get WBA up at the first attempt after their relegation from the Prem but this Villa team is possibly the worst team to drop out of the Prem so needs a complete overhaul!! Blackburn appoint Owen Coyle. But the Venky's are still in control so we know what will happen here!! L**ds appoint Garry Monk, a good manager but refer to Blackburn above but replace with Massimo!! Rotherham appoint Alan Stubbs from Hibs. No idea what he is thinking with this move, they are right at their peak in terms of position aren't they?? Didn't Wallace get a one year extension already or am I completely making that up??? RE: Ins & Outs 2016 - Washington - 02-06-2016 Unlike past regimes we seem to have key players on long term contracts so any offer that would prise them away should generate enough funds to find replacements. Personally I think there is a strong bond among the current squad, probably due in a large part to CC, that makes me think they all have unfinished business next season. I mean if you can't be motivated by the support they got at wembley then you might has well pack it in. Normally CC doesn't show much but the picture of him with the scarves at the end of the game showed just how disappointed he was at falling at the last hurdle. That said, it is a job with a limited earning window and if the right offer came in then some might move on but I think they are all ready to have another go for at least another year. A proper preseason and good start with an improvement in away results and against the 'bottom' teams and we are there. Of course we can't factor in the bahavior of the officals but hopefully we start with a clean slate and get less of the dodgy yellow/reds next time around. Aside from the Euros this is the time of year when the frustating football vacuum kicks in and we are still a few weeks off from all the silly rumours kicking in. I expect for us it will be as last year and we and the press will only find out as whoever it is when they post a picture of them holding a new shirt at S6. I'm bored already !!!!. RE: Ins & Outs 2016 - Statesideowl - 02-06-2016 Absolutely, I'd hope we'd place deterring prices on them. Players only have short careers though and players such as them deserve a bit of PL action. It'd be great to know they were happier with us, focussed on achieving their goals along with the Club's ambition. I don't believe there's an list as yet. Though a quick search can show whose contract have expired for us, such as Seme. There's a few like Mcgugan we'll need to get loaned out or transfer listed. Can't believe what a prima donna he really is. There we go, nice one Kev! It seems Pudil has 1yr left at Watford I'm hearing? I was under the impression he was OOC. If he is going to command a decent fee then I'd look for the better option elsewhere, or still do that and have him sign on as backup to the improved signing RE: Ins & Outs 2016 - St Charles Owl - 02-06-2016 I'm actually looking forward to the Euro's, not because I think England can win it, quarters for me, but because usually the games at this tournament are some of the best we will see in international football. I also think it's as open as it has been for a while, so picking a winner is a tough one this year. A transfer window in which we can now compete. I hope we've planned on sending a few scouts! RE: Ins & Outs 2016 - St Charles Owl - 02-06-2016 It's going to be interesting what budget DC gives CC to spend, of course we won't find out until we actually sign some players but his statement the other day was full of hurt over the result and full of hope because of how close we came and full of pride due to the support the fans have given the team, particularly after the final whistle. He seemed to plant his flag in the sand and said he will do whatever it takes, well at the moment in the Chamionship it will likely take a lot to get any team promoted!! |
