it's all moot because stubbs has made it clear he is sticking with him and cummings up front.

Well Stokesy certainly put in a shift tonight and it would've been good if he'd passed Muirhead in the 1st half and got through on goal - a great run from the centre spot! Thumb up And that cynical, dangerous foul to stop him was ludicrous and certainly not worthy of a yellow card! Thumb down He also brilliantly chested in Jason in a two touch move - flagged offside by the bald East Stand AR but never offside and this guy was slaughtered by Hibs fans in the East Stand together with that numpty of a weak referee! Deja vu for lotsa Hibs fans!

Not sure what the manager can do when his defenders don't do the basics with 2 simple balls into the box in the last few mins. Absolute joke.

The late changes weren't unreasonable with saturday in mind and were pretty much like for like. Hard to see us making the final now though, thats for sure.

The refereeing was dreadful,i still can't believe falkirk only had one player seeing red over the 90.

Stokes played well i thought, and cummings was a lot brighter too. But its all for nothing when you only take a point from a game we dominated and had the bulk of the chances in.

I agree re our defending of high balls - dunno what Darren Mac was thinking about with that 1st goal - totally lost the flight of the ball! Re the semi-final, I think Mixu is another ex hibee manager, a staunch hibee like Yogi, who has done us a favour by dumping Gunning. He has lost his other CH because the lad was definitely red-carded in their QF v Ross County. So he has to field an untried centre back pairing v Hibs. IMO we definitely have a good chance to beat them if we focus on that centre back position but also deal with Paton in their mid area. After watching 'cynical, desperate Falkirk' tonight, I'd demand a cynical job assigned on Paton and I mean 100pc cynical - IMO we're too nice in matches!! A wee tweak required using the appropriate players in a mid kicking shins/ankles contest!!! Lets play serious stuff and no prisoners taken - learn something positive from tonight's match!!

For my sins I was at Easter Road last night and only got home just before 1 am. Most of it's been said already (the shoddy defending late on), but I'll take a slightly different point of view on my favourite subjects.

Anthony Stokes - he was all right last night, he did run around a bit, but if he's not interested, he just isn't willing to try. I thought Hibs got him as a striker, but he's definitely not a striker. He almost broke through in the first half, but was cynically felled by the "last man", who got away with it.
Jason Cummings - see comments re Stokes not trying, but he did have quite a good game. The Falkirk keeper made 3 good saves from him right in front of me in the second half and brought him down in the box after the nonsensical "offside" decision. (Hanlon's successful penalty claim looked really soft to me, but the referee had a far better view to see if any contact was made.)
Alan Stubbs' substitutions - well, after all my previous comments, he finally made all 3 substitutions, but in the wrong match at the wrong time. He's not made them in matches we were losing and desperately needed to change the game. Now in a match we're winning 2-0 with less than 10 minutes to go and hanging on with a bit of midfield bite about us, he's brought on 2 subs into the midfield and changed the game.

Finally a wee bit about Falkirk - they were an extremely cynical team and clever with it. Hippolyte was very dangerous - he did his best to cheat his way into getting Hibs' players carded. Bartley was cautioned after an early tackle which was certainly a foul but not a bookable foul. And so it continued. On their positive side, Falkirk were quicker in thought and action than Hibs and will be difficult opponents in any play-off game, so much so, that they will be strong favourites to go up on last night's performance. A big plus mark too for the 1,300 Falkirk fans, who sounded like double that number, even when their team was 2 down.

Falkirk's record against both Hibs and Rangers this year is excellent when considered from the point of view of available resources.

You can't overly condemn them for being robust in the challenge etc - it has certainly brought them a measure of success.

Fair points, TWG, but Falkirk are more than just robust. Dodgy

You should try a couple of seasons in the lower leagues...we were told to stop moaning!

Falkirks record against us is so great they haven't beaten us once....not once.

We can beat them in the playoffs. But it won't be easy for sure.

How many times have you beaten them? Once, and three draws?  That's a fine record against a club that should, should mind, have been vying for automatic promotion.

And even had you beaten them 4 times this season it would count for nothing if they end up above you in the league.

Points gathered in games involving Rangers/Hibs vs Falkirk:

Rangers: 6
Hibs: 6
Falkirk: 9

They haven't beaten us once this season. Thats hardly a 'great record' As per you are thinking of your own mob. (who have lost twice to them despite having the 2nd biggest budget in the country)

They were dirty, scummy bastards last night by the way. I lost a lot of respect for them.
